Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Hot Summer Fun Kick-Off marks the start of the season with an epic beach ball drop and electrifying performance by Almost Queen: A Tribute to Queen and on Friday, June 28th. Starting at 6:00pm, guests are invited to sit back and relax at the Outdoor Concert Venue while enjoying refreshing beverages like the brand-new Party on the Patio Lager with Lime, a special collaboration with Runaway Train Brewery. WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 2, 2024) – With the 150th Kentucky Derby taking place on Saturday, May 4th, Mohegan Pennsylvania is set to host a Kentucky Derby Party like never before! Beginning at 2:00pm, this annual event will provide guests with an opportunity to indulge in delicious bites, try various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, participate in a Hat Revue for a chance to win up to a $500 Mohegan Pennsylvania gift card and join in on a promotion where guests can win up to $1,000 in free wagers. Additionally, a special edition of Party on the Patio will take place after the race! There is no cover for the Kentucky Derby Party and Party on the Patio.
The Kentucky Derby Party will feature Coors Light, Blue Moon, a variety of seltzers, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests can also enjoy the official cocktail of the Kentucky Derby, the Mint Julep, with an opportunity to upgrade to a specialty 150th Anniversary Kentucky Derby glass while supplies last. Those looking to grab a quick bite can head over to the Burger Bus and Eat Up Now food trucks where a variety of mouthwatering options will be available. Guests can stop by the Best Cigar Pub booth where a live cigar roller will be in action and a selection of cigars will be available for purchase. The Hat Revue is back, and guests have an opportunity to compete for lucrative prizes! Registration for the Hat Revue will be from 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the racing lobby. Winners of the “Most Classic Derby Hat” and “Most Creative Hat” categories will each receive a $250 Mohegan Pennsylvania gift card. Beginning at 10:00am on Friday, May 3rd, Mohegan Pennsylvania will accept advanced Kentucky Derby wagers in Simulcast and tellers will be available to assist. Beginning at 10:00am on Saturday, May 4th, Simulcast will be self-service but guests can place wagers with tellers at the upper-level Pacer’s Clubhouse betting windows. No live harness racing meets are scheduled for May 4th but Simulcast wagering will be available for all tracks with live meets including Churchill Downs throughout the day. All guests must be 18 years or older to place wagers at the indoor Simulcast location.
Mohegan Pennsylvania is holding a promotion where guests who wager $100 or more with a teller on any race will receive one entry for every $100 wagered. Guests must place these entries into one of the 20 boxes located in the racing lobby based on who they think will win the Kentucky Derby. At approximately 6:57pm, the Kentucky Derby will begin, televised on the outdoor jumbo screen and indoor racing TVs. At the conclusion of the race, four winners will be selected out of the corresponding boxes of the official top four finishers. The selected first-place box winner will receive $1,000 in free wagers valid for Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 18th. Second – fourth place winners will receive $500, $250 and $100 in free wagers, respectively.
Immediately following the end of the Kentucky Derby broadcast, The River 105 and 103.5’s DJ Tommy will take the stage to emcee Party on the Patio. The Fuchery is bringing in 2024 on a high note with high energy and debauchery from 8:30pm – 12:30am. This group of local musicians plays with no script, running songs the crowd enjoys by request or singing songs they know off the cusp. From now through Friday, September 29th, Momentum members can earn one entry towards the Big Game Bonanza for every Status Point earned while playing slot or table games at Mohegan Pennsylvania with a valid Momentum card. Momentum members can earn 8x the number of entries every Sunday and Thursday in September. On Saturday, September 16th, the number of entries Momentum members earn will be multiplied by 58x!
The Big Game Bonanza Drawings will take place on Friday, September 29th from 6:00pm – 11:00pm. From 6:00pm – 9:30pm, ten winners will be chosen every 30 minutes and will each receive $100 Free Slot Play. At 10:00pm, ten winners will receive $500 Free Slot Play. The Grand Prize winner will be selected to receive the ultimate Big Game prize package at 10:30pm! Mohegan Pennsylvania is ready to turn up the heat for a
thrilling Hot Summer Fun season! From July 1st through September 1st, Momentum members can enjoy giveaways with chances to win more than $2 million in cash prizes, Free Slot Play, brand-new summer toys and more. Hot Summer Fun begins with a summer kick-off event featuring Ostrich and Camel races and live harness racing. Don’t miss weekly tribute bands at the popular outdoor concert series Party on the Patio, and the FUNTASTIC 2023 Tour featuring Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo.
Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Summer Kickoff marks the start of the season with camel and ostrich races on July 1st. Live harness racing serves as the star of the show, where Mohegan PA’s horse racing action gets a unique twist. Between races, ostriches and camels with drivers will make a mad dash to the finish line! This family-friendly event starts at 12:30pm with the FBS Initiative presenting the colors during the National Anthem. Guests can also enjoy face painting, balloon art, Jitty Joe’s Ice Cream Truck and more! Local charity Marley’s Mission and veteran service organizations Amvets and PA Wounded Warriors will be on hand to provide support to guests of all ages.
Also kicking off on July 1st is Mohegan Pennsylvania’s “Toys Of Summer Giveaway.” Momentum members can earn entries all month long to win their choice of a Polaris Slingshot, Kawasaki Teryx, or an Aprilia RSV4 from North American Warhorse. The drawing will take place on July 29th with over 100 winners, but only one lucky Momentum member will drive away with their new summer toy!
In August, Momentum members can earn entries for the “$75,000 Aloha August Giveaway.” Drawings will take place as Hot Summer Fun wraps up on September 1st. One lucky winner will receive $25,000 Cash!
HOT SUMMER FUN DAYS OF THE WEEK
Momentum members can win big or score some sweet deals every day of the week during Hot Summer Fun!
Every Sunday starting July 2nd through August 20th, Momentum members who earn at least three Status Points will be able to participate in a slot tournament. On Sunday, August 27th Mohegan Pennsylvania will host the “Move-In Day Giveaway” where the first 1,000 Momentum members to earn one Status Point will receive their choice of back-to-school essentials.
Mondays bring the element of surprise to Hot Summer Fun. Each Monday there will be a different promotion, including a Toys of Summer entry multiplier, a Status Point Multiplier, Free Slot Play giveaways and more. All Momentum members who play their favorite slot machine or table game are eligible!
The first 500 Momentum members to earn one Status Point on Tuesdays will receive a commemorative Hot Summer Fun 2023 t-shirt. A new design is featured each of the nine weeks – visit each week to collect all nine! T-shirt recipients will receive $20 Free Slot Play when they return to Mohegan Pennsylvania on the following Thursday. On Tuesday, July 4th there will be a special “Independence Day Play to Earn Mystery” promotion where Momentum members can play a mystery game at any Promotional Kiosk to win up to $1,000 Free Slot Play.
Join Mohegan Pennsylvania on Wednesdays to enjoy the “Play & Eat” promotion where Momentum members who earn four Status Points are eligible to print a dining credit voucher at any Promotional Kiosk.
Thursdays are thunderstruck in July and August. Momentum members can play their favorite slot machine or table game for a chance to win an Indian motorcycle from North American Warhorse. The Grand Prize winner will be announced just before the music starts during Party on the Patio on August 31st.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo are set to turn up the heat with the FUNTASTIC 2023 Tour at Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Outdoor Concert Venue on Friday, July 28th. Doors open at 6:30pm and the show kicks off at 8:00pm, rain or shine. Tickets are $55.00 and on sale now via ticketmaster.com and the Mohegan Pennsylvania Box Office, located at the Hotel Front Desk. There are a limited number of VIP packages available for purchase. Entry is general admission, and seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is 21+ and valid identification is required upon entry.
