WILKES-BARRE, PA (January 29, 2019) – Get ready for March Bagness! Take part in one of the biggest Cornhole Tournaments in Northeastern Pennsylvania when NEPA Cornhole comes to Mohegan Sun Pocono on Saturday, March 16th. With $5,000 in guaranteed payouts, competition is sure to be fierce! Featuring three different Divisions for Advanced players, Competitive and Social, any skill level can play and win, from beginners to the most experienced, all inside the Keystone Grand Ballroom. Enjoy a Double Elimination tournament in a fun party atmosphere with state-of-art computerized brackets, all displayed on large screens. Do you think you have what it takes to be the last team standing? Tickets for the event can be purchased online prior to the event for $60.00 per team of two. Walk-ins are welcome, day of tickets can be purchased at the event for $80.00 per team of two. Registration for all participants begins at 11:00am. The tournament kicks-off at 1:00pm. NEPA Cornhole will be running the tournament on all professional, regulation boards. American Cornhole League rules will be followed.

WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 15, 2015) – On Thursday, October 1st, the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA) named Mohegan Sun Pocono the winner of the 2015 NEPA Alliance Regional Leadership Award at its annual dinner. Mohegan Sun Pocono President Mike Bean was on hand to accept the award with more than 325 local business and community leaders in attendance.
Jeffrey Box, President & CEO of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance stated, “The NEPA Alliance Regional Leadership Award is presented annually to an agency, group or individual demonstrating a significant contribution to regional growth, development or cooperation within the seven county NEPA region.” Mr. Box noted that the award began in 2003. Box added, “The 2015 NEPA Alliance Regional Leadership Award recipient was Mohegan Sun Pocono for their positive impact on the regional economy and dedicated involvement in the Northeastern Pennsylvania community.”
“Mohegan Sun Pocono is proud to be part of the Northeastern Pennsylvania region, and is honored to have been selected as winner of the 2015 NEPA Alliance Regional Leadership Award,” said Bean. He continued, “We believe the region has a bright future, as we continue to build on all of the hard work and success of so many people who have worked tirelessly to create positive economic impact and make the community a better place for all.”
The NEPA Alliance Regional Leadership Award is dedicated in memory of John J. Luciani, former NEPA Board Chairperson. It represents dedication to the people of the Northeastern Pennsylvania region, passion for economic growth and hard work that formed the foundation and advancement of NEPA. Past recipients include Anna Cervenak of NEPA Alliance; Robert G. Bee of WBRE-TV and Pahomepage.com; Colonel Gerhard P.R. Schröter, former commander of Tobyhanna Army Depot and United Neighborhood Centers of Scranton.

Supporting cancer services in the Northeastern Pennsylvania area
WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 13, 2015) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the most common cancer among women worldwide and the second most common cancer overall.
Mohegan Sun Pocono is committed to helping fight this devastating disease. Nearly 300 team members purchased a pink Mohegan Sun Pocono breast cancer awareness shirt to wear in lieu of their uniform shirts on Mondays and Fridays during October. All proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be donated to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, a local, non-profit organization working to ease the burden of cancer solely in Northeastern Pennsylvania by focusing on community and patient services, hospital and practice support services and cancer surveillance.
Mohegan Sun Pocono will also be host to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s annual Spirit of Hope Celebration on Friday, November 6th. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Patient Navigation Program, which helps cover the cost of recommended breast, cervical and colon cancer screenings for low income, uninsured or underinsured individuals in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
