Meet Olympic, World and National Champion figure skaters* performing in Nancy Kerrigan’s Halloween on Ice at Mohegan Sun Pocono prior to the start of their national tour, kicking off the following evening at the nearby Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
All ages welcome, but those under 21 years of age must be accompanied by an adult over age 21.
Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to time restrictions, signing of personal items, personalization, or photos taken with personal cameras are prohibited. Headshots will be given out at the event. This event is bracelet-only. A limited number of bracelets will be distributed starting at 5:30pm at the Sky Bridge; limit one bracelet per person. Participants must have a bracelet in order to gain entry into the event.

Members of 1970s Philadelphia Flyers to appear at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono

As part of their yearlong 50th anniversary racing celebration, Mohegan Sun Pocono is pleased to announce that Bernie Parent, Dave Schultz and Bob Kelly of the legendary 1976 Philadelphia Flyers will be greeting fans and signing autographs on Saturday, May 30th.

Known as one of the best hockey teams of all time, the Philadelphia Flyers of the early 1970s were well-renowned for their aggressive defensive tactics and great skill, which helped them to win two consecutive Stanley Cup titles in 1974 and 1975.       
Bernie Parent was the All-Star goalie that led the team to the two consecutive Stanley Cup titles, and was selected Most Valuable Player of both series. Parent was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1984.
Dave “The Hammer” Schultz, a rugged winger, was known as the enforcer of the team. In the 1973-74 season, Schultz accumulated 348 penalty minutes and in the 1974-75 season he accrued an astounding 472 penalty minutes, which today remains the NHL record for a single season. Schultz had amazing scoring abilities, scoring twenty goals during the 1973-74 season.
Bob Kelly was the aggressive left-winger and scored the game-winning goal to secure the Flyers’ second Stanley Cup championship in 1975. Along with Schultz, Kelly was one of the team’s top defensive enforcers.

Mike Schmidt postpones appearance; Reschedules for last day of meet while Thurman Thomas is added for Breeders Crown day signing

Hall of Fame baseball superstar Mike Schmidt postponed his appearance on Breeders Crown day, October 19, 2013, at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, due to a personal conflict, according to his management. The star has confirmed that he would reschedule for November 23, which will be the new closing night for the 2013 harness racing meet, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fans may line up at 2:00 p.m. on that day to secure their spot in line and obtain an authorized photo to be autographed. No outside merchandise will be signed.
Dale Rapson, Vice President of Racing Operations, has announced that the racing meet would offer two additional days of racing on Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23, with a Post Time of 6:30 p.m. both nights. Friday, November 22 has been deemed “Fan Appreciation Night”, and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., fans may show their Racing Rewards card and choose a souvenir from the 2013 meet; one per fan, while supplies last.
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is also announcing that NFL Hall of Fame Running Back Thurman Thomas would be on hand Breeders Crown day, October 19th from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to sign autographs and meet his fans. Line-up begins at 1:00 p.m., and fans will obtain a wristband to secure their spot in line.
Breeders Crown night will feature 12 championship races and purses over $6 million. Post Time for this historic night of racing is at 5:00 p.m.

ABOUT OTTIS ANDERSON:
Ottis Anderson graduated from the University of Miami in 1979 as the all-time leading rusher at the school with 3,331 yards. Anderson would be drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals that same year and his first pro season would amass 1,605 yards rushing, helping him earn the “Rookie of the Year” honors. Anderson would go on to rush for over 10,000 yards in his professional career while also winning the championship in 1991 as the New York Giants lead back. Anderson had 86 career touchdowns, was a 2-time All-Pro selection and was the MVP of the 1991 championship game.
