WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 17, 2024) – On Thursday, September 12th, Mohegan Pennsylvania (MPA) presented a $10,000 donation check to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, a no-kill animal shelter based in Dallas, PA. The organization often takes in animals that are sick, injured or surrendered by their owners. This check presentation took place right before Back in Black, a tribute to AC/DC, rocked the stage at Party on the Patio.
“At Mohegan Pennsylvania, we’re always dedicated to finding ways to give back to the community,” said David Parfrey, vice president of marketing at Mohegan Pennsylvania. “We’re honored to provide this donation to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, and we’re also thankful to the guests who donated to this important cause.”
“Blue Chip would like to thank Mohegan Pennsylvania for this amazing donation to the shelter,” said Cordie Braun, fundraising director at Blue Chip Animal Farm Refuge. “There aren’t enough words to express how much this will help with the medical care of the animals!”
Medical bills for Blue Chip Animal Refuge can reach up to $350,000 – $450,000 a year. The donation check that was presented to the organization derived from $5,000 in slot voucher and cash donations from guests and a matched donation from MPA. This is the third year of the donation program at MPA, with prior donations going to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre, PA and Ronald McDonald House of Scranton, PA.

WHAT: Mohegan Pennsylvania is hosting a special contestant search for renowned CBS game show, The Price is Right!

IN DETAIL: On Wednesday, October 9th, guests at Mohegan Pennsylvania will get the chance to tell producers why they should be selected to be on one of the most beloved game shows in the country. Two lucky semi-finalists will be selected and travel to Los Angeles. The winner will be called to “Come on Down!” and play the game on national television!
The Price is Right Contestant Search is open to guests ages 18 and older. All participants must be 18 years of age at the time of the application and a legal resident of the United States who currently resides in the states/Washington D.C. at the time of the application. Parking at Mohegan Pennsylvania for guests under 21 years of age is located at the hotel lobby entrance in Lot B or Lot C.
All auditions are recorded and provided to The Price is Right producers for consideration. Guests are encouraged to dress to impress! Solid colors appear best on TV, so all participants should wear what they would wear on the show.

WILKES-BARRE, PA (August 22, 2024) – The Hive Taphouse, located at Mohegan Pennsylvania, has introduced a revamped brunch option every Sunday from 9:00am – Noon. The Champagne Brunch Buffet features fresh made-to-order eggs and omelets, a sweet assortment of pastries and muffins, soups and salads, a rotating selection of mouth-watering chicken, and beef and seafood dishes. Additionally, this new option includes a mimosa or glass of champagne with $5 refills for all guests 21 years of age or older.
“We’re excited to have The Hive Taphouse offer this new and improved buffet option to our guests,” said David Parfrey, VP of Marketing at Mohegan Pennsylvania. “We felt like we were missing that convenient, go-to Sunday morning option, and the Champagne Brunch creates the unique opportunity for guests of all ages to enjoy a delectable menu that is sure to satisfy every craving.”
The Champagne Brunch at The Hive Taphouse is $24.99 for guests ages 12 and up, $9.99 for guests ages 4-12 and free for guests ages 3 and under. WHAT: Mohegan Pennsylvania (MPA) will be taking over the Outdoor Event Venue to celebrate the return of Northeast Pennsylvania’s largest and most popular outdoor festival: Oktoberfest 2024! The two-day festival kicks off on Friday, September 13th, and continues through Saturday, September 14th. Guests can enjoy an abundance of local craft, domestic and imported beer options, along with a variety of delicious food. Plus, enjoy live music, cornhole tournaments, stein holding competitions, wiener dog racing and much more! IN DETAIL: Oktoberfest is back once again at Mohegan Pennsylvania! The region’s largest Oktoberfest will be sure to provide guests with award-winning traditional entertainers, local bands, authentic German-American cuisine and fair-style food, wiener dog racing, stein holding competitions, and NEPA Cornhole tournaments. Guests can embrace the taste with more than 50 beer selections featuring domestic favorites, seasonal flavors, and even local breweries such as Runaway Train Brewery, Rusty Rail Brewing Co., and Wallenpaupack Brewing Co. Guests will also have the option to enjoy wine, spirits and various seltzers. NEPA Cornhole is conducting walkup tournaments throughout the festival which will take place on the racetrack infield.
Live entertainment at Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Oktoberfest will include fan-favorites, Bavarski, The Adlers Band, Joe Stanky and the Cadets, HSV Bavaria Dancers, and the return of talented singer and Germany’s own, Romy. Popular Elton John tribute band Philadelphia Freedom is new to the entertainment lineup this year with a special performance on Saturday, September 14th. The main stage will feature a fully covered seating area with room for over 1,000 guests to enjoy this incredible nonstop lineup of entertainment.
Oktoberfest will also feature local vendors offering authentic German-American cuisine, traditional fair-style options, pizza, burgers, fries, pierogies and more. Additionally, wiener dog races are back by popular demand! Attendees can register their furry friends in a series of races throughout the festival. Attendees who register their wiener dogs for the race will receive free admission to Oktoberfest. There will be a Dachshund parade before each race and trophies will be awarded to the winning wiener dogs!
Direct event parking is available on the racetrack with shuttle service to and from the festival grounds. Additional free parking is available in the casino lots. Guests arriving through the casino can access the event grounds through the racing lobby entrance.
