FIRST RACE – Again hot, with a stretch headwind changing midcard … MARION GONDOLIER left well, yielded at the ¼ and sat in the two-hole behind quick fractions, outside late turn and soon got the lead, drew away. TRICKY DICK got early position, didn’t stay with the top two far turn, but then steadily late and along for second. FRAC stayed in, decent to get third. SYLVESTERAMERICAIT was three-wide to the 1/8 then two-deep to the ¼ to take the lead, set a pretty quick tempo without pressure, weakened the last 1/8. MUSKINGUM was second-over behind nongaining cover, three-wide, just got the last check. FOREVERHILLREIGN had an excess of cover, widest and a bit at the end. KEYSTONE THUNDER looked at leaving but the filled a hole, uncovered 11/16, not a major danger. FINAL DREAM was not prominent.
SECOND RACE – DIXIE CHICK came out from fifth just past the quarter and made the lead before the second turn in a not-swift quarter, remained in firm control. BETTER BID HANOVER was three-wide leaving in getting the front at the 1/8, yielded for the pocket, extended to hold into the distant second. TEMPTATION EYES was four-wide towards turn one, momentarily got rough and took back to tuck third 3/16, outside again ¾, evenly. SANTAFE’S MJ was three-wide far turn and gained some. JENN’S GIRL was two-wide to the 1/8 and had the early pocket, stayed in, gapped out in the last ¼. KATHY’S CHAMP was gapping down the backstretch. PINEBUSH SWEETLIFE never made her presence felt. SIGNIFICANT OTHER lost contact past the 5/8.
THIRD RACE – BY A HOFF HANOVER was three-wide between horses going into turn one, then two-wide in securing the top at the ¼, sped up down the back, had to be urged home (30.2 last quarter) to stay safe of the closest challengers. TUFF TO BE LINDY took advantage of the rail, yielded at the ¼ for a pocket trip, was gaining some ground back in the Pocono Pike. ENDYMION moved uncovered 11/16 and made a steady progression to the wire. WINGMAN HANOVER took back early, started to gap in third 5/8. MY SON TY HANOVER and GAVINATOR both gapped a good part of this mile. JET STRIDE was four-wide leaving into turn one, then made a break.
FOURTH RACE – MIGHTY SURF gradually worked up to command 5/16, rolled on and drew off late in a very fast time for this bottom trotting level. LIBERO HANOVER made the lead and pushed the winner past the ¼, yielded for the pocket, was third when the first-over challenged, but stayed on steadily to be the distant deuce. EVANNA made a big 27.4 uncovered move down the back, but she was tired in the last 1/8. I’LLALWAYSBEBACK got the early pocket at the 1/8, struggled to keep pace in the three-hole 5/8. SCIROCCO JAKOB and GRAN PARAISO were never part of the main story. WELL CONNECTED KID moved out behind cover down the back but immediately couldn’t keep up.
FIFTH RACE – ROLLIN IN NEW YORK went three-wide into the first curve, onward to 3/16 command, slowed quarter two then sped up down the back, had a safe lead. SHIP WRECK BEACH K moved uncovered into the second turn, retucked in the pocket 5/8, went on well to the wire in a fast mile for this type. SNUF ENUF HANOVER followed the place horse’s cover, couldn’t stay with it, got to tuck in early on the far turn, clear third. HOLY MOMENT had some speed, was stuck behind a tiring pocketsitter 5/8 and had to wait to back outside, but didn’t make up ground once clear. YOUR HONOR went to the lead then yielded to the winner, couldn’t keep up from not much off turn two. ROAD READY WES lost contact.
SIXTH RACE – Wind diminishing … P L OLIVIA moved from second 3/16 to quickly grab control of the racetrack, rated the half and was in control. PRAIRIE TRINKET tucked third towards turn one, gapped a bit midbackstretch, then came out in the stretch and just caught PAINT BY NUMBERS for second. The latter was quick to get the early lead, yielded for the pocket, kept up pretty well most of the way but then tired and lost second late. EXTRA FANCY went around stragglers. BARNUM and AMBERS CHAMPION were not major players. SECRET EDGE jumped an 1/8 before the start. ONE TRIX PONY galloped going into the first bend. KRISTIELEIGH broke w-a-y before the start.
SEVENTH RACE – CHEESEHEAD raced up into the early pocket, gapped the runaway leader until late backstretch, out ¾ and went right by, far enough clear to withstand the rush of FLIGHT ONEFORTYSIX. The latter was three-wide early and tucked midpack at the 1/8, outside on the turn, finished the last 1/8 very strongly. EDITORIAL was double-looped and settled third at the 1/8, gapped the gapping winner a ways, tighter, outside on the turn, just made third over JAM THAT GUITAR. The latter had trouble, as many did, keeping tight in the fast pace, stuck behind the tired pacesetter late turn, then to the Pocono Pike and almost got third. MOM’S LITTLE WORLD got around stragglers for the last check. SIR LOVEALOT BC was off to the races setting a fast pace for maidens on a clear lead until past the 5/8, then got tired. THE OTHER TRIO were always way behind (TOTALLY ABEL got a slow start and was disconnected early).
EIGHTH RACE – CIMERONKEN was three-wide to the 1/8 then backed into the 3-hole, moved out with cover on the turn and wide headstretch, worked his way to the lead. DON was two-wide until getting the pocket 3/16, outside ¾ to the lead late on the turn, overhauled, kept second ahead of MAGIC VACATION. The latter swung wide into the stretch and finished strongly. CAMPBELLINI decided to use the advantage of the rail and went through to force tucks and set the pace, rated quarter two, yielded late turn, fair late. POND JUMPER was wide with distant cover early, then two-wide with cover until swinging three-deep early in the backstretch, got to two-wide with cover again ¾, OK. WINDSUN HUGO did not enter the picture. MARLEY’S GUY actually showed first away from the gate but was four-wide and, seeing he would not clear easily, took back, found no hole and was on the outside raw, looped late backstretch and tired. ALLY WAY CAST moved outside but had little to offer.
NINTH RACE – It rained during the race … KIANNA was first to the point, yielded past the ¼, moved outside 3/8 and reclaimed control just before the half, was subjected to first-over pressure which she turned back, stayed safe in the lane. ALLEY HANOVER went into the early pocket, third-in, went to the Pocono Pike and had late kick. CAVIART LUCIA was three-wide to the 1/8 and pressed on to the front past the ¼, yielded at the half, stayed close but didn’t quite have enough. DARK MIRAGE was second-over, found her best gear a little too late. KATES WAY was between horses leaving, looped and in 3/16, came first-up 9/16 and pressed the lead, tired some in the lane. THE LAST THREE were well behind (CHANEL BEACH was off the gate).
TENTH RACE – The diminished wind appears to be reversing to a stretch tailwind … THISISSHE was on top at the 1/8, relinquished, retook to the 3/8, had a lot of horses in contention headstretch but maintained her advantage to the wire gamely. ARCHIBALD was second-over, three-wide past the ¾, one-geared it steadily. STOP RESISTIN was third-over, three-wide with cover on the turn then four-wide headstretch, finished nicely. JUST MAYBE THE ONE started uncovered just past the 3/8 and attacked the winner, tired a little bit. CLARION HALL got the top 3/16, yielded for the two-hole, had the Pocono Pike awaiting but could muster little rally. THE NEXT THREE never achieved contention. MISS VET HANOVER had some speed, had started to gap before the half and broke soon after that point.
ELEVENTH RACE – ROCK IDOL had some gate jet, pulled uncovered at the half and attacked the leader on a long challenge from the 5/8, finally pulled away from that one past midstretch. BEGINNER’S LUCK was wide leaving to get command in a quick quarter, rated quarter two with the wind then picked it up as the winner made his presence felt, fought that one off as long as he could, second while well-clear of the rest. BRANDON HANOVER was away to secure the pocket, was loose in same from the 5/8, distant third. BLUEBERRY HEAVEN gapped gapping cover then got tighter, three-wide midturn, picked up the rest. WILDCAT HILTON left but took back, not heard from thereafter. ASTON HILL DAVE was not prominent. MOXLEY moved uncovered nearing the second turn, then got cover at the other end of that bend but couldn’t go with it, falling way back late.

FIRST RACE – Hot; stretch headwind … BETTOR B ROLLING didn’t come off the rail until the ¾, but circled those in front of him by headstretch and ran away. NORTHBROOK RON trailed the winner at a distance that grew in the last quarter, but still beat the others. TERLINGUA gapped the early duelers, came up the Pocono Pike for the very distant third. ARTACUS went off the rail 3/4, evenly. SPORTY REDHOT kept the pocket closed during the early duel, then gapped out 5/8. BAYONET went in front at the 1/8 and hung a foe in fast fractions, had nothing left for the stretch. BIG GAME HUNTER had cover to the 1/8 then was left raw, challenged for the top but was left out in the air, fading before the 5/8.
SECOND RACE – JEREMES GENERAL was looped and tucked third at the 1/8, moved outside past midturn and three-wide headstretch, kicked in late and got the decision. CASH IS KING made the lead before the 1/8, set wind-appropriate fractions under no pressure, couldn’t hold up. HES GONE BADDER secured the pocket, outside headstretch but came up a bit shy. CHANCELLORCULLEN N stayed connected, next in line. NEWS WATCH outfinished MEADOWBROOK FLASH for fifth. GRAVE DANCER was uncovered before turn two, had stopped gaining 5/8. GRANTOR HANOVER backed out behind the first-over, three-wide 5/8 but never gained.
THIRD RACE – ANDOVERS TOUCH took the pocket nearing the 3/16, gapped at the half then got closer through the backstretch, outside ¾ but back in on the turn, then had a clear inside path as the pacesetter bore out and was along in a slow last quarter. TW LAUXMONT would not yield while setting a monstrous quarter and half for bottom trotters, clear much of the backstretch, bore out through the stretch but still didn’t lose by all that much. CHOCOTURE was out down the back about a half an acre behind the lead, went inside the bearing-out horse late and gained (in the 32 kicker). CRITICAL MASS moved outside 5/8, carried three-wide by a drifter headstretch, so-so. LANDONFITZ gapped much of the way, got the last check up the inside. NATALIE HANOVER couldn’t stay close the last half. CHUCKY DE VIE was three-wide much of the 3/16, got in past the ¼, gapped, bore out some headstretch and had no late response.
FOURTH RACE – SWEET ROCKIN GIA backed off early, quarter-moved but needed the length of the frontstretch to clear to the top, tough in the latter stages. GEORGIE MARTIN N, low-going, moved alertly to second-over, three-wide to headstretch, looked to want to run in a little early stretch, then got straightened away and went on steadily. DELISHKA N put everybody in behind early, then yielded only after pushing past the 3/8, tired a bit. DIBABA N was three-wide to the 1/8, reluctantly went inside past the 3/16, uncovered 5/8 and challenged, couldn’t sustain. ROCK N ROLL ROSIE was no factor. PAIGE’S GIRL gapped cover.
FIFTH RACE – GEMOLOGIST settled into the pocket early and rode the good trip, outside headstretch and went on to an easy victory. DARTY stayed third-in, went to the Pocono Pike and held second over RECIPROCALBLUECHIP. The latter looked at leaving but took back, stayed in, outside for clearance before midstretch and finished with trot. WISENHEIMER headed down the road in snappy fractions, nothing left for the stretch. BLENHEIM was third-over, three-wide at the ¾, some belatedly. WHAT A RUSH gapped early then tightened in en route to going first-over into turn two, never reached the leader, faded. KEYSTONE SERGEANT was second-over, was blindswitched, then angled wide headstretch but couldn’t contribute much.
SIXTH RACE – LYONS AMUSEMENTS reluctantly settled in the pocket nearing the ¼, moved outside midturn, then wide and ran down BUDDY HILL late in a very fast time for bottom-level horses. The latter went into the 3-hole past the 1/8, then started uncovered 9/16, went up with the wind and challenged the leader from the 11/16, put that one away headstretch, held gamely, far ahead of any of the others. ROCK THREE TIMES moved outside at a distance on the turn and was along for a no-factor third. IMAGINEUWITHOUTME stayed in, advanced to fill a hole late backstretch, didn’t have that much along the inside late. SEEL THE DEAL N went right down the road, under pressure from late backstretch, surrendered headstretch. NIALL HANOVER moved outside but couldn’t enter the fray. STORMONT CZAR A and BEACH BABY BEE gapped at the back. SHOREVIEW moved out uncovered 5/16, never got close.
SEVENTH RACE – HOPEFUL PRAYER used inside positioning to take control of the throttle, put in a pair of 28.2 back splits to be an easy winner. VICTORIANA left between horses and went to the pocket at the 1/8, maintained second over MY ABIGAIL late. The latter was well-placed second-over, tipped wide late turn but went wider than needed and stayed wide, could not rally for the deuce. AD ASTRA was three-deep leaving, settled n third past the 1/8, uncovered early on the backstretch, challenged then started to fade past midturn. CHEESY HANOVER hugged the inside and just got the last check. QUICKEST HANOVER was far back, in tight quarters late going for the last check. THESUNRISESAGAIN was eclipsed in here. CANTABSLEADINGLADY was behind the gapping cover of SISTER CHRISTINA and tried to circle it ¾, but neither filly got close.
EIGHTH RACE – APRIL AVA was looped leaving and went on to the front in a quick quarter, yielded, loose in the pocket from the 5/8 into the stretch, but (as the pace decelerated) rallied courageously to get the decision. CAVIART CHERIE quarter-moved to 3/8 command, went 54.4 in the middle half opening a clear lead 5/8, almost lasted in a fast mile – good effort. PRAIRIE WESTERNGAL looped everybody leaving to the front into turn one, saw two go by, stayed connected, Pocono Pike, was doing very well up the inside late. CRAZY CUTE was looped, tucked fourth at the 1/8, moved uncovered 5/8, grinded all the way home after looking shook off headstretch. SKATEBOARD CHIC raced inside, evenly late. BYE BYE MICHELLE never featured. PAMMY JO moved second-over but gapped.
NINTH RACE – PIPER HANOVER gradually worked her way to the lead off the first curve, finished in hand while unthreatened with back fractions of 55.2 – 27.3, top mile. MAY KARP left and forced a tuck, then let the winner go, up on the bit, just not quite as good as the winner. ALPINE left, went in behind the place horse, stayed connected, clear third. ABOVE THE CLOUDS also stayed connected while no threat. KOMMIN ON STRONG was inside, gapped ¾. MISS CLEOPATRICK was uncovered at the half and did trot up in 27.1 the third panel, but never got close and then tired significantly. DD’S DIAMOND was no factor. FORTITUDE FASHION was near the back when breaking 5/8.
TENTH RACE – The teletimer malfunctioned during the race; the official fractions were 27.1, 57.2, 1:26.2, 1:53.1 … BELLA BELLINI went up gradually and shopped a tuck fourth 3/16, uncovered past the 5/8 and soon in high gear, had a terrific battle with ANOKA HANOVER in the 26.4 last quarter, gained the advantage for good very late. The latter quarter-moved and got a rest to the 5/8, where she picked it up as the winner was coming, all-out in a ding-dong duel with the one, very good race. YOU ATO DREAM went out to instant command, yielded for the two-hole, was just off the top two and far ahead of the rest. PUB CRAWL left and took the pocket going to turn one, couldn’t keep up ¾. FORTISSIMO FASHION was last when breaking on the far turn. INEFFABLE tried to keep with cover but broke on the last bend.
ELEVENTH RACE – LADY CHAOS worked up to the lead at the 1/8, let a foe go 5/16 and sat on her back as she came under pressure, went to the Pocono Pike and steadily worked her way to the front. DONNA SOPRANO was looped, briefly had early cover then went on to grab the racetrack 5/16, came under bigtime pressure from FLAWLESS COUNTRY, held that one off but was caught to the inside. The latter started uncovered 5/8 and went head-to-head with the pacesetter from the 11/16, held well. MAZZARATI had the early pocket, stayed in then backed out to second-over 11/16, didn’t quite have the speed of those finishing ahead of her but stayed trying. REBEL GIRL saved ground, never a factor. GOO DOO DOLL came off the rail midturn after a foe broke, but couldn’t reach. MELANIA was third-over, went offstride mid-far turn. LOVE MUFFIN misbehaved soon after the start.
TWELFTH RACE – DAZZLING REIGN went out to early control, yielded to a brusher to the half and sat connected in the two-hole, outside headstretch and drew away easily. DIFFIDENT advanced all along the inside, Pocono Pike, good to be up for second. MOVE OVER SOME made a move 3/8 to get the lead by the half in a slow second quarter, rolled on but came up shy in the drive. EVENING STROLL had the early pocket, stayed in until moving wide and wider nearing headstretch, found a better gear a little too late. KEYSTONE BARRACUDA never entered the picture. R SPEED OF LIGHT was out behind cover, never got close. VINYANA tucked third at the 3/16, backed out to third-over nearing the half but soon found herself raw as one horse cleared up top and one broke, never factored thereafter. WIXX HANOVER went into a midpack tuck 3/16, then followed a brusher 3/8, about to be left raw when breaking at the half.
THIRTEENTH RACE – JUXTA COWGIRL wouldn’t let anybody by at any point, dug in tough when threatened late. JENORA N got in third past the 1/8, came uncovered 11/16, went on well but couldn’t go by. JUSLIKEAQUEEN took the pocket past the 1/8, to the inside of the winner, held OK but edged for second. ROLL WITH ANGEL stayed in, gapped a bit on the turn, then was better in the Pocono Pike late. ABIGAIL DAWN was out behind a dull second-over, ducked in past midturn, squeezed through up the deep inside with pace. A CRAFTY LADY had an excess of cover. BULLVILLEKARLA never was in the mix. BRING ME DIAMONDS moved outside but never gained. ELENIARK A was last at every call.
FOURTEENTH RACE – BULLVILLE TERROR was third-over, blindswitched ¾, able to clear and go widest in the stretch, up in the last step in a blanket finish. DARK ENERGY N was uncovered towards the 5/8 and gradually gained, kept going, may have made a one-step lead two steps from the wire, just nipped. JANAID was looped leaving then went on to take over control, set the pace, was ahead until the last couple of steps. GENERAL JOY A was second-over, three-wide midturn, steadily but a quarter-step short of these. JAHAN HANOVER left for the top then yielded for the pocket, stayed tight, to the Pocono Pike, not far off. MOTIVE HANOVER took back at the start, trailed inside, went to the deep Pike, missed it all by 1¼ lengths, and didn’t get a check. HOW ARE YEE JOHN went three-wide from fourth-over ¾ blindswitching the winner, but couldn’t sustain.

FIRST RACE – 43 degrees and “sloppy +1” throughout, with a stretch headiwnd definitely portrayed by most races’ fractions … RANGERS SURESHOT was third-over past the 3/8 behind the swift numbers, three-wide with cover then four-wide at the ¾ and circled the field to open a clear lead, had gotten away from TRENTE DEO. The latter took the early pocket, was under a fierce hold late far turn awaiting the Pocono Pike, finally got there and closed well but the winner had opened too much distance. WATERWAY was in the widest lane on the turn and closed for third. ALEX TYE maintained early position, also stuck inside, went OK in the stretch. THEFREEDOMFIGHTERN was caught in, shuffled to last and had to back out wide, finished well. SOMWHERENBROOKLN N approached the gate cautiously but accelerated past the start and either forced tucks or hung horses in snappy clockings early, not enough the last 3/16. SEVENS HOPE A was three-wide 3/16 then two-wide raw the duration, faded. DAAMERICANSKY was four-wide 3/16 and three-wide almost to the ¼, then took behind cover, three-wide 5/8 but didn’t gain.
SECOND RACE – TALK SHOW was forwardly-placed early, gapped then gradually made up ground in the fast third quarter, snapped two-wide midturn and three-wide midstretch, a safe winner as the pace declined. BOBBY K HILL yielded to one leaver and then was underway to reclaim the front at the 1/4, yielded to a brusher early backstretch and stayed close, to the Pocono Pike, won a three-horse photo for second. WHITE HAIR ROCKS left well in a 26.4 quarter to be on top at the 1/8, yielded, moved back out raw 5/8 as a new horse took over, went along gamely. OFFICIAL DELIGHT was wide in the lane, last until midstretch then passed even-going and blocked horses. MAJOR BUCKS went three-wide 11/16, got cover midturn, so-so. POLAK A was outleft and settled fourth nearing the ¼, came with a rush into the backstretch to go right by in a quick third split, tired. CHEYENNE JEFFREY was left uncovered when his cover made the lead down the back and gapped badly, then wasn’t clear late as the pace slowed down. GIAS BOY stayed in and also looked in tight quarters to the wire.
THIRD RACE – TUCKER CREEK moved outside 5/8 then swept three-wide 11/16, circled the field to be clear in upper stretch, may have flattened a little late but had enough to prevail. URBAN RENEWAL was looped leaving and took the pocket before the ¼, waited for the Pocono Pike, seemed to have a chance but couldn’t quite make it. FRANKIE ROCKS A stayed in, to the far inside and best of the rest. GRAND PRIORITY was three-wide to the 1/8 to loop the field and then set the pace under pressure most of the way, gave way. CAL was second-over, gapped down the back, blindswitched by the winner, never a contender. HEREITIZ was outside with cover but found no hole, lost cover at the ¼ and fought with the leader, tired after the tiring trip. I GET THAT was second-over, gapped down the back, little today.
FOURTH RACE – CASH IS KING left for the pocket, didn’t take up the chase of the new leader until the 7/8, then easily overhauled that one. UPTOWN FUNK was uncovered past the 3/8, went his own middle half in 56.1 to clear to the lead ¾ and open some daylight, held very well though settling for second. DREAM OF LUCK didn’t keep up inside on the far turn, then found a better gear and was just up for third over JEREMES GENERAL. The latter made the lead at the 1/8 and cut the fractions, could not resist the brusher ¾, gradually gave some ground. THE NEXT THREE never made their presence felt. MR BIG LOAD was second-over but couldn’t keep up 11/16.
FIFTH RACE – APEX SEELSTER moved to second-over 3/8 behind the parked horse, three-wide 9/16 to two-wide raw to the 11/16, fell back on the turn but then did better late and outpaced ELECTRIC WESTERN home. The latter stayed in, had a gapper in front of him on the turn, went to the deep Pocono Pike, made the lead just past midstretch, caught late. PROVEN DESIRE made the lead at the 1/8, yielded and sat the pocket, gapped much of the way, then found room inside of a drifting leader midstretch to salvage third. P L MUNSON did not leave but then gunned up before the first turn to take over nearing the ¼, wouldn’t surrender the lead to the parked horse, had an open margin to the ¾ and around the turn, but then got short-strided and bore out early stretch. JUST N ACE was forwardly-placed, moved two-wide with cover just before the ¾, wide in the stretch but outpaced. VALIDUS DEO moved up three-wide to the 3/16, then was hung raw most of the rest of the way, looped down the back and faded. ROCKIN IN THE HILLS was never a factor.
SIXTH RACE – SWEET SOFIE T got a midpack spot, stayed in until late on the far turn, swung wide in the lane and just worked by MANWILLING late. The latter needed the length of the frontstretch to move to the lead, had a clear lead early stretch, just failed to hold on. CATWALK AS tucked fourth 3/16, came raw and gained nicely down the backstretch through the turn, shortened stride but only a little late. WORTHY OF HONOR was fastest away, strung out the early mover then yielded for the two-hole, well-placed for the last 1/8 but empty. SANCHEZ ROCKS could muster no late thrust. ZOE F was not heard from. TRICKY DICK spotted midpack then moved second-over, gapped out approaching the final turn. SEBASTIAN U, off the gate, was gapping in last when breaking at the half. PRESIDENT was outside early and was trying to gain in the two-wide flow when jumping early backstretch.
SEVENTH RACE – UNION STATION was second-over going to the second turn, gapped some in the fast third quarter, was able to go into the pocket late turn as the former occupant retreated, to the Pocono Pike and got the decision. CINNAMACK was behind dull cover on the far turn, widest in the lane and still seventh just past midstretch, but passed a bunch with good foot as the pace slowed down. FOO FIGHTER N was the only leaver, at times lonely on the lead, couldn’t quite carry that jet to the finish. WAGON MASTER slid out to third-over before the ¾, couldn’t generate too much in the last 1/8. ART SCENE gapped early, moved uncovered and did much better down the back, reaching the leader before the ¾ and engaging him through the turn, couldn’t quite sustain the move. CONSTNTLYSIDEWYS A sat in, then lived up to his name looking for stretch room. WHAT’S GOIN IN was too far back to make a major impact. RAPTORS FLIGHT N defaulted to the pocket, not too much the last half.
EIGHTH RACE – LAZER JET left and got away second after a foe broke, quarter-moved, yielded, then regained the lead at the half, withstood challenges from all sides. BANZAI AS went to the lead and relinquished to the winner, gapped a little down the back then tightened in, to the Pocono Pike and finished well. RECIPROCAL BLUE CHIP bided time outside early then went on to 3/8 command, yielded for the two-hole, a little loose down the back, held OK. PROTOSTAR took back to tuck past the midpoint of turn one, suffered “b.e.”, went uncovered at the half, held on very well. FATHER DUNN was far back and slow to catch up with cover, but trotted pretty well the last 5/16. GALIXTON didn’t get a great start and was no factor. MY BOY CHRISTIAN lost gait a couple of times. I HAVE A DREAM didn’t have much trot here. HALL IT OFF went up wide to try to get the early lead but miscued 3/16.
NINTH RACE – ROYAL HEART was out behind good cover, ducked in to a two-wide blindswitch to the ¾ then deftly went to the open pocket late on the turn, to the Pocono Pike and came on strongly. BARNABAS was last until nearing midstretch, roared past everybody but the winner. JANAID was four-wide to the 1/8 then to two-wide to the lead off turn one, kept one foe parked until midbackstretch and then another from nearing the ¾, held very well. NINE WAYS was in the lively wide tier, good but outpaced by the place horse. JUST PLAIN LOCO was buried inside, finished with some pace once free. NEWBIE was eighth(!) at the START but played track geometry perfectly to push out just enough to keep opponents wide early, yielded past the ¼ for the pocket, vacated same ¾ but didn’t have much left. RAKSMACH N moved behind the parked horse, three-wide to the 5/8 and left three-wide as the pocketsitter pulled, flattened out. BLOW A CLOUD N looked at leaving but took back, stayed in, gapped ¾. SHOREVIEW was three-wide while looped early, drove on past the ¼ but couldn’t clear while on a line, faded 5/8.
TENTH RACE – MELANIE’S TEDY persisted between horses early to 1/8 command and forced a tuck before the ¼, rated the half, looked in control in the lane with mild urging. TULLOW N was off the gate but still got away third, sat in, gapped from the half to the ¾, got to the Pocono Pike directly as the pocketsitter moved out, steady pace but not enough. MY MIND IS MADEUP was three-wide just past the 1/8 and accepted the pocket before the ¼, tight, outside to headstretch, couldn’t gain. REVELRY was underway at the ¼ and got to second-over, three-wide midturn, good mile. TWIN B SPEED DIAL stayed in, shuffled a bit, fair late. DA MAGICIAN was third-over, gapped on the far turn, then did a little bit in the straightaway. WESTERN HILL spotted fifth at the 1/8, flushed out 5/16 and had to go a long way raw, didn’t really threaten before fading. CLASS SIX was never in the hunt.
ELEVENTH RACE – HORSING AROUND left to get the pocket behind the speedy IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N and sat on that one’s back, went to the Pocono Pike and may have won more easily than the margin may suggest. The latter rocketed frontward as usual, got a breather in quarter two, wasn’t as fresh as the winner late. BARBADOS moved second-over into turn two, three-wide just past midturn, strong finish. ASTON HILL DAVE rode along inside, fair late. GLENGARRY KNIGHT N was outside in the back half of the field, gapped on the turn but came back a little late in a good showing. MY DELIGHT was never prominent. MISSISSIPPI RABBIT left and went in the three-hole before the 1/8, uncovered into turn two, held his ground until the last 1/8. WINDSONG JACK was last at every call.
TWELFTH RACE – BURNING MIDNIGHT was four-wide leaving, three-wide 3/16, then two-wide to the pocket before the ¼, to the Pocono Pike, got to the lead midstretch and went clear. CAPTAIN NASH was another who downshifted from the rail past the start, hung foes, and got the lead in a fast opener, rated the half then dealt with the first-over, no answer for the pocket rocket. BRAVO TEX N took an inner route, angled out before midstretch and finished with pace. GRAND TETON was mired behind excess cover, way wide headstretch, had a very big last 1/16. FIREBALL stayed in and advanced, swung two- and three-wide past midturn, couldn’t contend. AMERICAN REBEL tucked fifth, then was out third-over, gapped, was gaining again late. A REAL MIRACLE took back for a 3-tuck, on the move raw nearing the half, tired. SHANE ADAM didn’t have enough gate speed and had to take back to fourth at the ¼, then went second-over, empty by the ¾.
THIRTEENTH RACE – CLASSY HILL was four-wide leaving but quickly got to two-wide, made the lead not long past the 1/8, set the pace, under assault from several angles in the last quarter but held together gamely. BUSBOY HANOVER just got outside midturn and swung three-wide to headstretch, finished well to just miss. MOUNTAIN HIGH sat fourth-in, then could come all the way up the rail and right to the Pocono Pike, just failed. ITSONLYROCKNROLL A yielded for the two-hole, came outside past midturn, a half-step shy. OH K MAN gapped some, next in line. UNDERTAKER could move outside with cover past the 5/8, went three-wide ¾ and was kept out in the three-path by horses moving outside, flattened. REAL LUCKY N was never in contention. FERNADO was two-wide early, slid a tuck, then came out again raw 3/8 and challenged, tired before the ¾. BARGAIN SHOPPER was three-wide and looped, left outside, came wide off the first turn, got cover 3/8, but was done not long into the backstretch.
FOURTEENTH RACE – SUNSET BRAYDON made the lead then yielded just past the 1/8, looked to consider a quarter-move but stayed put, uncovered 5/8 and right by ¾, powerful drawing clear late. THISJETSABOOKIN made the top just after the 1/8, yielded to a brusher, got out behind the winner and retucked behind him on the turn, barely saved second over BEST TRICK EVER. The latter got underway at the ¾ and made up a lot of ground. BYE BYE JOHN never featured; nor did INTERNET HANOVER. WILSON’S VINNER quarter-moved, strung out the field to the ¾, then gave way.
