Presenting PNC Pops Concerts
WILKES-BARRE, PA (September 12, 2016) – Bringing their irresistible, toe-tapping, finger snapping and popular works to the Keystone Grand Ballroom, the NEPA Philharmonic will be presenting their PNC Pops Series consisting of three shows over the next few months. This season, their Pops series will take you on a journey from great movie themes, through the bright lights of Broadway and to Jazz clubs of the swing era. The NEPA Philharmonic celebrates Classical Orchestral music’s relevance to Pop culture, and truly enriches and engages the audience with their artistic excellence.
Wicked Divas – PNC Pop I
On Saturday, October 8th, join us for a Wicked-good evening of Diva showstoppers from the world of Broadway, Opera and Pop! The evening will feature Elphaba and Glinda from the Tony Award-winning production of Wicked. In addition to the untold tale of the witches of Oz, the program includes favorites from Gypsy, Ragtime, Titanic and Carmen. You’re sure to love their bewitching and bedazzling performance! Guest artists include Julia Murney and Emily Rozek, and doors will open at 7:00pm, with the first series performance beginning at 8:00pm.
A Night At The Oscars – PNC Pops II
As Hollywood prepares for the annual Academy Awards, join the NEPA Philharmonic in celebrating past Oscar-winning movies and scores. From John Williams to John Barry, you’ll hear unforgettable music from films like Titanic, Gone With the Wind, Schindler’s List, The Godfather, Out of Africa, Star Wars and more! Maestro Loh and the Philharmonic musicians will bring their flair to some of the most cherished and honored movie scores. This second series performance will take place on Saturday, February 4th at 8:00pm.
The Piano Men – PNC Pop III
On Saturday, April 1st at 8:00pm, the third and final series, The Piano Men, will rock the night away to the epic music of Billy Joel and Elton John! The Philharmonic, and the Rock group Piano Men, will join forces to give you the songs of Billy and Elton in full symphonic glory. Guest artist, Joe Boucher, and his group will perform such favorites as: Allentown, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Rocket Man and New York State of Mind. The wow factor or this concert is off the charts!

WILKES-BARRE, PA (August 24, 2016) – A Denver-based foursome, The Fray formed in 2002 and achieved national success in 2005 with their debut self-titled release, selling over four million albums and 20 million singles worldwide, including the multi-platinum hit songs “You Found Me,” “Over My Head (Cable Car)” and “How To Save A Life.” The Fray struck a huge chord with audiences and turned their organic grassroots efforts into major success, earning a total of four Grammy nominations.
The Fray is set to perform inside the Keystone Grand Ballroom on Saturday, November 5th, with Rock band American Authors to open as special guests. Doors will open at 7:00pm and show time is 8:00pm.

The group’s current and fourth album Helios (2014) was released on Epic Records, with a signature sound that features electronic instruments, drum samples, enormous backing vocals and production assistance from Stuart Price and Ryan Tedder. The album received early critical acclaim from the Denver Post as well as Billboard, which hailed its “bare emotion bolstered by echoing backing vocals and unexpected twang.”
The Fray has recently performed “Love Don’t Die” on the Today Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2014 and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Pennsylvania’s largest Oktoberfest returns for another weekend full of fun at Mohegan Sun Pocono. The PA Oktoberfest kicks off on Friday, September 16th and continues through Sunday, September 18th for three days of beer, food, music, wiener dog racing and more! Sponsored by Times-Shamrock Communications, the event will be held on the race track apron at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Admission is $5.00 and advanced tickets will go on sale Friday, August 19th at the Mohegan Sun Box Office and any Shur Save location, with buy one, get one free admission!

One of the top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations in the nation, the widely popular PA Oktoberfest returns to Mohegan Sun Pocono with more than 50 beer selections, award-winning traditional entertainers, local bands, authentic German-American cuisine, wiener dog racing, strong arm contests and more. This year’s festival is back with new activities and entertainment, making it the best celebration yet! Live entertainment at this year’s PA Oktoberfest will include John Stevens’ Doubleshot Polka and a crowd favorite, Romy – from Munich Germany. Known for playing the traditional Alphorn, the Alpine Horns will also be performing at this year’s festival.
Other highlights this year include Special Keg Tapping Ceremonies on Friday, September 16th
at 4:30pm, 5:00pm and 5:30pm. Then on Sunday, September 18th, the 2nd
Annual Lederhosen 5k will begin at 12:00pm. Guests can register for this event in advance or at the event, starting at 11:00am through 11:45am. The Lederhosen 5k will take participants around the Pocono race track and through the surrounding trails. $10.00 registration fee includes race entry and all-day admission to PA Oktoberfest. Okto-mugs will also be handed out at the finish line to all who participate in the Lederhosen 5K.

A combination of hit records and energetic live performances, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have been teaming up for almost 20 years and have become one of Country music’s most recognizable duos.
