Mohegan Sun – encompassing their flagship property in Connecticut and Mohegan Sun Pocono in Pennsylvania – was recently named one of “America’s Best Employers, 2015” by Forbes. The company was also named 12th nationwide under the Travel & Leisure category – joining iconic brands such as Walt Disney Parks & Resorts and Marriott International – and was the second highest performing gaming company within the category.
Mohegan Sun, which owns and operates the two facilities noted above, also manages Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City. Combined, the three properties employ over 10,000 workers.

At the Connecticut property alone, over 11% of the workforce has been with the organization since opening day over 18 years ago. Mohegan Sun also boasts over an 80% retention rate year end and year out, far exceeding the national average for hospitality companies.
The results for this ranking were compiled from an independent survey conducted by Statista of American employees, one of the leading statistics companies on the Internet.
In addition to the Forbes announcement, Mohegan Sun was also honored on April 15th for the 2015 Steps to Success Award by Disabilities Matters for their partnership with Community Enterprise. Back in 2011, the two companies formed the Industry Specific Training and Placement Program – a ten week program including classroom and on-the-job training. Upon completion, participants could be hired for open positions within the company. To date, over 120 people have completed the program with a success rate of over 80%.

Wilkes-Barre, PA– Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will open its new Elixir Bistro Bar on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Located in the hotel lobby, Elixir Bistro Bar will offer guests Starbucks® Coffee, grab-and-go breakfast items, fresh salads, sandwiches and pizza. Elixir Bistro Bar is owned and operated by Metz Culinary Management, which also operates Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Wolfgang Puck Express within the casino.

WILKES-BARRE, PA – Due to forecasted inclement weather, the fireworks show at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs scheduled for July 3rd will be postponed. The new date will be Thursday, July 10th at 9:30pm during Party on the Patio featuring Tramps Like Us- A Tribute to Bruce Springsteen. This will be an all-ages show.
Party on the Patio for July 3rd will now be inside the Keystone Grand Ballroom with tunes by Parrotbeach – A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett. The doors will open at 6:00pm and the show will start at 7:30pm. Must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

Annual Hot Summer Fun celebrations return featuring hot entertainment, dining specials and a chance to win $100,000 cash!
WILKES-BARRE, PA – Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is heating things up this summer with their 6th annual Hot Summer Fun celebration. From May 25th through August 31st, the calendar is packed with exciting giveaways, promotions, tournaments, dining specials, events, fireworks and so much more!
Kick off Hot Summer Fun with a Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday, May 25th! Free and open to all ages, this event will be held on the Racetrack Apron and begins at approximately 9:30pm. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Each day of the week brings a new opportunity to win at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. The week kicks off with Manic Mondays featuring Dueling Cash Cubes in June and August. Guests will compete one-on-one to grab as much cash and free slot play in 30 seconds as possible. In July, Manic Mondays will feature a Rolling for Rewards promotion. Participants will randomly be selected to roll a giant dice for a chance to win up to $1,000 in free slot play.
