Now through January 1st The Hive Taphouse ramps up Holiday Entertainment, Events and Festive F&B specials

WILKES-BARRE, PA (November 26, 2024) – Mohegan Pennsylvania is thrilled to announce the return of the ultimate holiday experience in NEPA, Jingle at The Hive Taphouse. Now through Wednesday, January 1st, guests can head over to The Hive Taphouse to experience a decked out holiday pop-up takeover that promises to bring the festive spirit to Northeast Pennsylvania. The holiday celebration kicks off with the much-awaited return of Shorty Long & The Jersey Horns on Thanksgiving Eve! From festive food & drink specials to holiday inspired special events, Jingle at The Hive Taphouse has something for everyone. Jingle at the Hive Taphouse is open from 9:00am – 10:00pm on Sundays, Noon – 10:00pm on Mondays – Thursdays, and Noon – 1:00am on Fridays & Saturdays.

Special Events

Experience special holiday events throughout the month of December!

On Saturday, December 7th at 7:00pm, Jingle at The Hive Taphouse will feature SantaCon! SantaCon events continue to grow in popularity and allow guests to dress up as Santa and other famous holiday characters – and at Mohegan Pennsylvania those festive costumes will directly compete with one another from 8:00pm – 10:00pm! At 11:00pm, winners of the contest will be announced and a $250 Mohegan Pennsylvania gift card will be awarded to the winners of best Santa, Elf and Ugly Sweater costume! Additionally, Leighann & Co. will be providing the live holiday entertainment from 8:30pm – 12:30am! SantaCon is for guests 21 years of age or older and is completely free to attend.

Guests will have an opportunity to compete against one another during Jingle at The Hive Taphouse’s Holiday Hat and Hair Contest! On Saturday, December 14th from 8:00pm – 10:00pm, guests are invited to show up in their best holiday hat or festive hair style and compete for bragging rights and special prizes! The first, second and third place winners in each category will receive a $75 Mohegan Pennsylvania Gift Card, Champagne Brunch at The Hive Taphouse for two, and Top Golf for two, respectively. Winners will be announced at 10:30pm.

On Sunday, December 15th, The Hive Taphouse will provide fun for the whole family as Brunch with Santa is set to take place from 9:00am – Noon. Throughout the brunch, guests will be able to meet and take photos with Santa! The Hive Taphouse’s revamped Champagne Brunch Buffet features fresh made-to-order eggs and omelets, a sweet assortment of pastries and muffins, soups and salads, a rotating selection of your favorite chicken, beef and seafood dishes, and a mimosa or glass of champagne with $5 refills for adult guests. Kids under 3 are free! Guests under the age of 21 must enter through the Racing entrance adjacent to parking lot A and always be accompanied by an adult.

On Saturday, December 21st, guests will have another opportunity to compete against one another during Jingle at The Hive Taphouse’s Holiday Beard and Mustache Contest! From 8:00pm – 10:00pm, guests are invited to show up with their best holiday beard or mustache and compete for bragging rights and special prizes! The first, second and third place winners in each category will receive a $75 Mohegan Pennsylvania Gift Card, Champagne Brunch at The Hive Taphouse for two, and Top Golf for two, respectively. Winners will be announced at 10:30pm.

Additionally, trivia and karaoke continue on Fridays with special holiday themes! On Fridays, December 6th, 13th, and 20th beginning at 7:30pm at Jingle at the Hive Taphouse, guests can take part in Holiday Trivia Nights with DJ Tommy where the top three teams will win a Mohegan Pennsylvania gift card! Following trivia, guests are invited to stay for Christmas karaoke where they can sing along to their favorite Christmas songs and other holiday season favorites all night long.

NEPA’s favorite outdoor concert series runs from May 2nd – September 26th

WILKES-BARRE, PA (March 14, 2023) – Fifteen years and still rockin’! Mohegan Pennsylvania is excited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of their iconic outdoor concert series, Party on the Patio. This year’s series is like no other, with 23 bands taking the stage over the course of 22 weeks. The first week kicks off on Thursday, May 2nd, with Stayin’ Alive bringing the best of the BeeGees. Philadelphia Freedom (a tribute to Elton John) also takes the stage during week one for a special Derby Day edition of Party on the Patio on Saturday, May 4th. Local fan favorites Bon Poison (a tribute to Bon Jovi and Poison) and Idol Kings (a tribute to Reo Speedwagon and Journey) return to the lineup while new acts like KISS Army (a tribute to KISS), Nightrain (a tribute to Guns N’ Roses), The Faithfull (a tribute to Pearl Jam) and more make their Party on the Patio debut. Doors open at 6:30pm and the bands start rockin’ at 7:30pm. There is no cover to attend Party on the Patio.

Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Party on the Patio is Back!

New tribute bands join local favorites for an extended version of NEPA’s favorite summer concert series starting Thursday, June 1st

WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 6, 2023) – Calling all tribute band fans! Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Party on the Patio is back and better than ever. The popular, free summer concert series kicks off Thursday, June 1st, and every Thursday through September 14th guests can gather at the Outdoor Concert Venue for a party like no other, hosted by DJ Tommy from The River 105.

This year’s lineup has been extended to 16 weeks of live tribute bands, and Completely Unchained (a tribute to Van Halen), Fooz Fighters (a tribute to the Foo Fighters), Idol Kings (a tribute to Journey/REO Speedwagon), and Country Legends (a tribute to Keith Urban and Garth Brooks) make their summer debut. Local fan favorites Philadelphia Freedom (a tribute to Elton John), Bon Poison (a tribute to Bon Jovi and Poison) and Dustin Douglas & The Electric Gentleman (a tribute to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan) are just a few bands set to rock the stage. Doors open at 6:30pm and shows starts at 7:30pm. There is no cover for Party on the Patio. After the show, keep the party going with DJ Tommy at Breakers!

After dancing up an appetite, guests can stop by the Mohegan Pennsylvania food tent for freshly grilled burgers and hot dogs or visit a delectable local food truck each week. Coors Light, Blue Moon, Patio Punch and a variety of seltzer, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase.

ABOUT RON TURCOTTE: Ron Turcotte was born in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada on July 22, 1941. One of twelve children, Turcotte was always known to be a strong jockey because of his early years as a lumberjack. In 1960, unemployment sent him to Toronto. There he obtained a job as a hot-walker at E. P. Taylor’s Windfields farm. He recorded his first win in 1962 and was Canada’s top jockey in 1962 and 1963. He went on to race in the U.S. but his career ended tragically on July 13, 1978 when he became paralyzed from the waist down in a racing accident at Belmont Park.
Now confined to a wheelchair, he returned to New Brunswick to continue raising his four daughters and now lives a quiet life with his wife Gaetane.

Tryouts for Wheel of Fortune will be held at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on May 19th & May 20th 

WHAT: The longest running syndicated game show in the United States, with over 5,000 episodes aired, is making its way to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs for a special Wheel of Fortune event. The “Wheelmobile” comes in the form of a Winnebago and makes its stop at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th from 10:00am to 2:00pm on both days.

IN DETAIL:  The “Wheelmobile” is a fully shrink-wrapped Winnebago with Wheel of Fortune iconography that travels nationwide in search of contestants for the show.  The Wheelmobile is equipped with a stage, puzzle board, prizes and a professional host and hostess. During the event, there will be 3 one hour shows during which contestants will play a number of mini-games.  Contestants will have a chance to win prizes and qualify for the final Wheel of Fortune auditions. Those who attend the event but are not selected to participate in the mini-games on stage, will have an opportunity to qualify for the final auditions by dropping off their applications at the event.
