WHAT: Begin your Independence Day celebrations early with a July 3rd fireworks spectacular, drink specials and live music at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. On the 4th, dance your night away with a Party on the Patio concert featuring the Jimmy Buffett tribute band Parrot Beach.

IN DETAIL: Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is set to launch their 4th of July festivities with a bang, celebrating the holiday with a fireworks extravaganza scheduled for approximately 9:30pm on Wednesday, July 3rd. The fireworks will come at the conclusion of an evening of action packed harness racing with a special post time of 5:30pm on the track at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
On Independence Day, the celebrations continue with the hottest party in Luzerne County. Starting at 6:00pm, the beach comes to NEPA with a special Party on the Patio featuring the celebrated Jimmy Buffett tribute band Parrot Beach. The band goes on at 7:30pm and $2.00 draft beer specials flow throughout the night.
A variety of live music and drink specials are also being offered in some of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs’ other venues throughout each night. Beat City hits the stage in Breakers at 9:30pm on Wednesday, July 3rd, with Big Bang Baby playing a show from 10:30pm-2:00am on Thursday, July 4th. Additionally, $5.00 beer buckets are available in Bar Louie on July 3rd, with $2.00 draft beers flowing on the 4th. Hungry? Fill up with some pre-fireworks all-you-can-eat pasta in Rustic Kitchen the night of the 3rd.

Fifth annual Hot Summer Fun kicks off May 26th for a season long, Seven-day-a-week celebration of Summer
Hot! Hot! Hot! Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is heating things up this summer with their 5th annual Hot Summer Fun celebration. From May 26th through September 2nd, the calendar is packed with exciting giveaways, promotions, tournaments, dining deals, events, fireworks and so much more!
Each day of the week brings a new opportunity at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs beginning with Live it Up Mondays. In June, Player’s Club Card members over the age of 55 can insert their cards into their favorite slot machines every Monday from 6:00am to Midnight for their chance to win a Silver Linings Surprise of instant Free Slot Play. One lucky winner each Monday throughout the month will also take home $555.00 in cash! Guests who are 55+ can also enjoy the breakfast in Timbers Buffet each Monday in June for the special price of $5.55 with a Player’s Club Card. Guests under the age of 55 can also enjoy the breakfast buffet for just $9.99. Dakota, Tommy Steele and Jasmine Cain are among the artists scheduled to perform on Sunday, September 2nd
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is proud to announce the debut of the first RadioBOLD Music Festival at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Sunday, September 2nd. This first-of-its-kind event will be a celebration of music and radio like never before and is set to take place at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs’ outdoor patio and Racetrack Apron beginning at 1:00pm. The event will feature multiple bands, multiple music formats and genres, giveaways and a very special “coming home” reunion performance by the popular 80s group, Dakota. The event is a listener appreciation party in celebration of the newly-released and revolutionary RadioBOLD Mobile App which allows listeners to uniquely access all Bold Gold radio stations throughout Pennsylvania and New York, including 105 The River…“Powered By Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.” Tickets to the event will be FREE, with ticket pick-up locations throughout northeast Pennsylvania and New York being announced soon.
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is excited to feature such a great combination of music genres from each Bold Gold radio station. The outdoor patio and Racetrack Apron at Mohegan Sun is the perfect spot to host the exclusive live performances scheduled for Dakota, Country artist Tommy Steele and Nashville rocker Jasmine Cain. The evening will close out with The Party on The Patio’s Billy Joel and Elton John tribute band, Face to Face and an amazing fireworks display. Listeners will get the chance to win major prizes throughout the event and have an opportunity to interact with their favorite on-air personalities from each Bold Gold radio station, as well as with the musical acts.
It’s been 25 years since Dakota played their farewell show at Montage Mountain in Moosic, PA to over 17,000 fans. Several members of The Buoys, who had a major hit with the Rupert Holmes written song, “Timothy,” went on to form Dakota, releasing their self-titled album in 1980. The single, “If It Takes All Night,” peaked on the Billboard charts at #78. Soon after, the band was asked to do a last minute fill-in opening for the legendary band Queen during “The Game” tour, which was so successful that Dakota opened for the next 35 tour dates worldwide.
Michigan native and country artist Tommy Steele has shared the stage with superstars like Leann Rimes and Gretchen Wilson, opened for popular Country band Big & Rich and performed at the CMA Festival in Nashville. Following the release of his first CD, The Long Haul, Steele’s two hit singles “Forever 17” and “What Kind of Man Would I Be,” generated features in Country Weekly, MusicRow and Magazine of Country Music. His latest single, “My Side of The Street,” is currently climbing the MusicRow charts.
Rocker Jasmine Cain’s natural ability to capture and hold the attention of audiences has contributed to her current success as Just Plain Folks Association’s “Female Artist of the Year and two-time “Female Rock Vocalist” at Nashville’s Music City Mayhem. With three self-released albums (The Inside, Locks & Keys and Highway Prophet) and a newly-released music video for her title track single, “Highway Prophet”, Jasmine Cain has sold over 20,000 albums and gained 5,000 views in the first week of her music video.
The first RadioBOLD Music Festival will be held on the patio and Racetrack Apron at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Sunday, September 2nd.Doors will open at 1:00pm. Fourth annual Hot Summer Fun kicks off May 27th and runs throughout the summer
WILKES-BARRE, PA – As the temperature rises, so does the action at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs with the 4th Annual Hot Summer Fun celebration. The summer-long festivities run from Memorial Day weekend through September 2nd and include themed-days, great promotions, cash prizes, giveaways, spectacular fireworks, signature events, dining deals, shopping specials and much more!
Throughout the summer, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will be hosting a number of promotions including a $50,000 Summer Dream Sweepstakes in June where Player’s Club members can earn their share of $50,000 in prizes. In July, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will be home to the Twice as Nice sweepstakes. Player’s Club members can earn entries to win not one but two Mercedes Benz.
