Oktoberfest is Back at Mohegan Pennsylvania

The return of the popular beer festival is set for Friday, September 15th & Saturday, September 16th; Germany’s own, Romy, returns for her 7th Consecutive Performance at Oktoberfest

WHAT: Mohegan Pennsylvania (MPA) will be taking over the harness track & track infield known as MPA’s Outdoor Event Venue to celebrate the return of NEPA’s largest and most popular outdoor beerfest: Oktoberfest 2023! The two-day festival kicks off on Friday, September 15th, running into Saturday, September 16th. Guests can enjoy 50+ domestic and imported beer options, delicious food, live music, cornhole tournaments, wiener dog racing and much more! Tickets are $5.00 per day at the door.

IN DETAIL: The region’s largest Oktoberfest is back where it all started. The festivities will kick off with a ceremonial keg tapping from each of our participating  distributors for Oktoberfest at 5:00pm on Friday, September 15th. Over the course of this two-day event, guests will enjoy award-winning traditional entertainers, local bands, authentic German American cuisine, wiener dog racing, NEPA cornhole tournaments, strong arm contests and more than 50 beer selections including highlights like Shangy’s – The Beer Authority, Northeast Eagle, Wallenpaupack Brewing Co and L.T. Verrastro. Guests will also have the option to enjoy wine, spirits and various seltzers.

NEPA Cornhole will be conducting walkup tournaments throughout the festival which will take place on the racetrack infield.

Live entertainment at Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Oktoberfest will include fan-favorites, Bavarski Band, Schützengiggles Oompah Band, Joe Stanky and the Cadets, Alpine Horns Ensemble, HSV Bavaria, Ken Norton, Jay Luke and the return of talented singer and Germany’s own, Romy. The main stage will feature an area of over 1,000 seats for guests to enjoy this incredible lineup of entertainment.

Oktoberfest will also feature local vendors offering authentic German American cuisine, traditional style fair options, pizza, pierogies and more; some of these vendors include The Alpine Wurst & Meat House, Luppo Russo Wood Fired Pizza, Yogi’s Pierogies, Lou’s Concessions, Cibo’s Pizza, Kernel Moonies Gourmet Popcorn, Best Cigar Pub and more.

Additionally, Wiener dog races are back by popular demand! Attendees can register their furry friends in several heats of races throughout the festival. Attendees who register their wiener dogs for the race will receive free admission to Oktoberfest. There will be a Dachshund parade before each race and trophies will be awarded to the winning wiener dog! To register, click HERE.

Okto-Bucks are the official currency of Oktoberfest 2023 at Mohegan Pennsylvania. Guests may purchase Okto-Bucks at the event ($1 = 1 Okto-Buck).

Direct parking for the event is available on the racetrack with shuttle service to and from the festival grounds. Casino guests can access the event grounds through the racing lobby entrance.

ABOUT ROMY: Headlining the Oktoberfest 2023 live entertainment will be Germany’s own, Romy – An accomplished singer with four solo albums, author and host of her own German based TV show, Romy’s performances will have attendees swaying in their seats and laughing at her playful banter.

ABOUT Schützengiggles OOMPAH BAND: Schützengiggles Oompah Band is a traditional German/Bavarian Brass band based out of Scranton, PA!

ABOUT JOE STANKY and the CADETS: This group has a large local following and have been performing for 30+ years appearing at venues from Texas to Massachusetts. They’re known for versatility and providing audiences with a variety of musical styles including Polkas, Country, Rock n’ Roll and specialty tunes.

ABOUT ALPINE HORNS ENSEMBLE: As the name suggests, Alpine Horns Ensemble brings the energy through incredible horn performances including the German Alpenhorn or 12’ horn. Played by Alpine herdsmen and villagers by way of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, this is a must see event at MPA’s Oktoberfest.

PA Oktoberfest Returns To Mohegan Sun Pocono

Pennsylvania’s largest Oktoberfest returns for another weekend full of fun at Mohegan Sun Pocono. The PA Oktoberfest kicks off on Friday, September 16th and continues through Sunday, September 18th for three days of beer, food, music, wiener dog racing and more! Sponsored by Times-Shamrock Communications, the event will be held on the race track apron at Mohegan Sun Pocono. Admission is $5.00 and advanced tickets will go on sale Friday, August 19th at the Mohegan Sun Box Office and any Shur Save location, with buy one, get one free admission!

One of the top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations in the nation, the widely popular PA Oktoberfest returns to Mohegan Sun Pocono with more than 50 beer selections, award-winning traditional entertainers, local bands, authentic German-American cuisine, wiener dog racing, strong arm contests and more. This year’s festival is back with new activities and entertainment, making it the best celebration yet! Live entertainment at this year’s PA Oktoberfest will include John Stevens’ Doubleshot Polka and a crowd favorite, Romy – from Munich Germany. Known for playing the traditional Alphorn, the Alpine Horns will also be performing at this year’s festival.
Other highlights this year include Special Keg Tapping Ceremonies on Friday, September 16th at 4:30pm, 5:00pm and 5:30pm. Then on Sunday, September 18th, the 2nd Annual Lederhosen 5k will begin at 12:00pm. Guests can register for this event in advance or at the event, starting at 11:00am through 11:45am. The Lederhosen 5k will take participants around the Pocono race track and through the surrounding trails. $10.00 registration fee includes race entry and all-day admission to PA Oktoberfest. Okto-mugs will also be handed out at the finish line to all who participate in the Lederhosen 5K.

IN DETAIL:  PA Oktoberfest, the largest Oktoberfest in Pennsylvania and one of the top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations in the nation, returns to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs with more than 50 beers, award-winning traditional entertainers, local bands, food, wiener dog racing, a strong arm contest and more.
