Stealing Neil Crowned Winner of Battle of the Bands

WILKES-BARRE, PA (May 22, 2015) – At the long-aStealing Neilwaited grand finale on Thursday, May 21st, Rock/Alternative band Stealing Neil was crowned the winner of Mohegan Sun Pocono’s 5th Battle of the Bands at Breakers, and awarded the $10,000 grand prize.
Founded in 2004, Stealing Neil has cultivated a devoted and ever-growing following thanks to the diverse talents of the band’s current lineup including lead singer and guitarist R.J. Scouton, lead guitarist Jared Scavone, rhythm guitarist Pauly Young, drummer Tony Scavone and bassist/vocalist Bruce Christian. The band’s set list is wide-ranging, thanks to the members’ eclectic and varied musical influences of Grunge, Country, Classic Rock and Hair Metal.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners of the event were Nowhere Slow, Coast 2 Coast and Facing the Giants, and each was also awarded a cash prize.

Memorial Day Weekend Fun and Festivities

Memorial Day weekend is almost here and it’s a great time to enjoy Mohegan Sun Pocono. Join Mohegan Sun Pocono from Thursday, May 21st through Monday, May 25th for a weekend full of entertainment including live music, exciting horse racing and the opening of the spectacular outdoor Terrace.
The fun begins on Thursday, May 21st at 8:00pm at Breakers where four lucky finalists will compete in the grand finale of the Battle of the Bands and the winner of this year’s competition will be chosen. Since March 12th, 32 bands have competed in this, the 5th year of the event, and it’s finally down to the final four—Nowhere Slow, Coast 2 Coast, Stealing Neil and Facing the Giants. Come on out to see the action and cheer for your favorite band to win the grand prize of $10,000!
On Friday, May 22nd, unwind and have a drink at the Terrace before you begin your weekend. Located just off the hotel lobby, the Terrace is a relaxing outdoor venue with cozy seating surrounding an open fire, with live entertainment from Mike Dougherty on Friday, May 22nd and Music for Models on Saturday, May 23rd. Also on Friday and Saturday nights, dance to live entertainment at Bar Louie, Breakers and Ruth’s Chris Steak House, or enjoy a fun night of laughs with Kevin Downey Jr., Marc Yaffee and Scott Bruce at Wise Crackers Comedy club.
On Saturday, May 23rd at 8:00pm, Blues Traveler brings their high energy performance and top hits like “Hook,” “Run-AroundBlues_Traveler” and “But Anyway” to the stage in the Keystone Grand Ballroom. Since their Top 10 success of Four over twenty years ago, these Rock icons have released numerous albums, including their 12th and most recent, Blow up the Moon, on April 7th. Battle Of The Bands Returns To Mohegan Sun At Pocono Downs

Calling the Northeast’s best bands to compete for cash prizes and a chance to open for a national headliner

WHAT: Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will host its 4th Battle of the Bands competition at Breakers from February 26th – May 21st, 2014. Bands are now being considered for the competition with a deadline to enter set for Friday, January 10th, 2014.

IN DETAIL: Is your band the best in the Northeast? Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs hosts its 4th Battle of the Bands competition to answer that very question. It all kicks off with the first Battle of the Bands showcase on Wednesday, February 26 2014 inside Breakers at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Each week from February 26th – May 21st, cheer on the bands as they compete for cash prizes and bragging rights. The grand prize winning band will take home $10,000 and a chance to open for a national headliner. The second place band will win $4,000, with the third place band winning $2,500.
Bands interested in competing can enter Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs’ Battle of the Bands no later than 5:00pm on Friday, January 10th, 2014. Forty bands will be selected to compete. Interested bands can learn how to enter the competition by visiting Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs’ website.
