Ashtoreth Hanover wins Claiming Handicap Pace at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs

WILKES-BARRE, PA — Ashtoreth Hanover, reined by Jim Morrill Jr., came from off the pace Wednesday, June 2nd to win the $20,000-$25,000 claiming handicap pace at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Paper Cut (Andrew McCarthy) cut out the first-half of the mile with times of 26 and 55.2, respectively, before tiring down the backstretch.
Morrill Jr. began his charge with the eventual winner and held off a fast closing Fivewillgetyouten (Billy Dobson) at the wire, winning by a neck with a time of 1:54. This was the fourth win in 11 starts this season and two straight for the four-year-old mare trained by Kris Rickert.
Ashtoreth Hanover also was claimed out of the race and goes back to the Ron Burke Stable.
Tina Tim, an 80-1 longshot driven by Jim Taggart Jr., won a non-winners of two extended pari-mutuel races condition trot with a time of 1:59.2. This winner returned $168.60, $110.40 and $13.20 across the board. It also set up a Pick 3 payoff of $1,683.80, an Exacta return of $1,158.60 and a winning Trifecta ticket of $2,289.40.
J. Neal Ehrhart trains Tina Tim, a winner for the initial time this year on the fourth start.
