WHAT: Mohegan Pennsylvania (MPA) will be taking over the Outdoor Event Venue to celebrate the return of Northeast Pennsylvania’s largest and most popular outdoor festival: Oktoberfest 2024! The two-day festival kicks off on Friday, September 13th, and continues through Saturday, September 14th. Guests can enjoy an abundance of local craft, domestic and imported beer options, along with a variety of delicious food. Plus, enjoy live music, cornhole tournaments, stein holding competitions, wiener dog racing and much more! IN DETAIL: Oktoberfest is back once again at Mohegan Pennsylvania! The region’s largest Oktoberfest will be sure to provide guests with award-winning traditional entertainers, local bands, authentic German-American cuisine and fair-style food, wiener dog racing, stein holding competitions, and NEPA Cornhole tournaments. Guests can embrace the taste with more than 50 beer selections featuring domestic favorites, seasonal flavors, and even local breweries such as Runaway Train Brewery, Rusty Rail Brewing Co., and Wallenpaupack Brewing Co. Guests will also have the option to enjoy wine, spirits and various seltzers. NEPA Cornhole is conducting walkup tournaments throughout the festival which will take place on the racetrack infield.
Live entertainment at Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Oktoberfest will include fan-favorites, Bavarski, The Adlers Band, Joe Stanky and the Cadets, HSV Bavaria Dancers, and the return of talented singer and Germany’s own, Romy. Popular Elton John tribute band Philadelphia Freedom is new to the entertainment lineup this year with a special performance on Saturday, September 14th. The main stage will feature a fully covered seating area with room for over 1,000 guests to enjoy this incredible nonstop lineup of entertainment.
Oktoberfest will also feature local vendors offering authentic German-American cuisine, traditional fair-style options, pizza, burgers, fries, pierogies and more. Some of these food options include The Alpine Wurst & Meat House, All Belgium Waffles, Cibo’s Pizza, Eat Up Now, Lou’s Concessions, Ray’s Porketta, and Yogi’s Potato Pancakes. Other popular vendors include Kernel Moonies Gourmet Popcorn, Best Cigar Pub, Sugar Plum, and more.
Additionally, wiener dog races are back by popular demand! Attendees can register their furry friends in a series of races throughout the festival. Attendees who register their wiener dogs for the race will receive free admission to Oktoberfest. There will be a Dachshund parade before each race and trophies will be awarded to the winning wiener dogs!
Direct event parking is available on the racetrack with shuttle service to and from the festival grounds. Additional free parking is available in the casino lots. Guests arriving through the casino can access the event grounds through the racing lobby entrance.

WILKES-BARRE, PA (July 8, 2024) – Allied Services is thrilled to announce the public kick-off of the 2024 Team Allied Services & You fundraising campaign, in partnership with Mohegan Pennsylvania, who have been a major sponsor for 15 years. The campaign launch will be celebrated at Mohegan Pennsylvania’s Party on the Patio event on Thursday, August 15th. The celebration will begin at 4:00pm with a live broadcast by WNEP TV’s Chelsea Strub, who will introduce viewers to members of the fundraising and marathon team. Doors open at 6:00pm for the free 21-and-over concert, with live music from Parrot Beach, a Jimmy Buffett tribute, starting at 7:30pm. Official Team Allied Services exercise shirts and wristbands will be available for sale and volunteers will be collecting donations.
“What makes Mohegan Pennsylvania so special as part of Team Allied Services is that in addition to hosting our campaign launch, they always have a team member that raises additional funds, trains for the marathon, and makes the trip to New York City to run the marathon in November,” – said Charlotte Wright, Assistant VP of Marketing & Development. “It has been a tremendous partnership with Mohegan Pennsylvania, and we’re thrilled to again kick our fundraising season off at Party on the Patio on August 15th!”
Team Allied Services & You is an annual charity campaign designed to inspire fitness, challenge disability, and change lives. The months-long campaign culminates with a dedicated team of 68 volunteers participating in the prestigious TCS New York City Marathon on November 3rd, 2024. Proceeds from the campaign will benefit children with disabilities at the Allied Services John P. Moses Esq. Pediatric Rehab Centers in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. Donations will help the non-profit health system extend specialized rehabilitation services to more underinsured children with disabilities, life-changing injuries and chronic illnesses.
For each of the 15 years that Mohegan Pennsylvania has been a major sponsor, at least one team member has represented Mohegan Pennsylvania (or its parent company, Mohegan) as a fundraiser and a marathon runner. This year is no exception, with Jason Bohenek, Internal Audit Manager of the Mohegan Tribe, and Jennifer Ducharme, Director of Events at Mohegan Pennsylvania, participating. All funds raised this year will be allocated to pediatric services within Allied Services.

Party commemorating the start of the season takes over the Outdoor Concert Venue on Friday, June 28th
WILKES-BARRE, PA (May 22, 2024) – Mohegan Pennsylvania is ready to start a summer to remember at the Hot Summer Fun Kick-Off featuring Almost Queen on Friday, June 28th! Starting at 6:00pm, guests are invited to sit back and relax at the Outdoor Concert Venue while enjoying refreshing beverages like the brand-new Party on the Patio Lager with Lime, a special collaboration with Runaway Train Brewery. Delicious bites will be provided by local lobster food truck Wicked Pissah, and Burger Bus will also serve up delectable hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches and seasoned Patio Fries.
At 7:30pm, Almost Queen: A Tribute to Queen takes the stage with a classic set guests won’t want to miss! They don’t just pay tribute to the legendary band, Almost Queen transports guests back in time to experience the magic and essence of Queen themselves. WILKES-BARRE, PA (April 2, 2024) – With the 150th Kentucky Derby taking place on Saturday, May 4th, Mohegan Pennsylvania is set to host a Kentucky Derby Party like never before! Beginning at 2:00pm, this annual event will provide guests with an opportunity to indulge in delicious bites, try various alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, participate in a Hat Revue for a chance to win up to a $500 Mohegan Pennsylvania gift card and join in on a promotion where guests can win up to $1,000 in free wagers. Additionally, a special edition of Party on the Patio will take place after the race! There is no cover for the Kentucky Derby Party and Party on the Patio.
The Kentucky Derby Party will feature Coors Light, Blue Moon, a variety of seltzers, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. Guests can also enjoy the official cocktail of the Kentucky Derby, the Mint Julep, with an opportunity to upgrade to a specialty 150th Anniversary Kentucky Derby glass while supplies last. Those looking to grab a quick bite can head over to the Burger Bus and Eat Up Now food trucks where a variety of mouthwatering options will be available. Guests can stop by the Best Cigar Pub booth where a live cigar roller will be in action and a selection of cigars will be available for purchase. Additionally, guests can relax and listen to acoustic music by Ken Norton from 2:00pm – 6:00pm.

The Hat Revue is back, and guests have an opportunity to compete for lucrative prizes! Registration for the Hat Revue will be from 4:00pm – 6:00pm in the racing lobby. Top prizes include a $500 Mohegan Pennsylvania gift card that will be awarded to the “Best Couple” or “Group Themed Hats”. Winners of the “Most Classic Derby Hat” and “Most Creative Hat” categories will each receive a $250 Mohegan Pennsylvania gift card. Mohegan Pennsylvania gift cards can be redeemed towards an overnight stay, divine dining choices and incredible shopping selections across the property.
Beginning at 10:00am on Friday, May 3rd, Mohegan Pennsylvania will accept advanced Kentucky Derby wagers in Simulcast and tellers will be available to assist. Beginning at 10:00am on Saturday, May 4th, Simulcast will be self-service but guests can place wagers with tellers at the upper-level Pacer’s Clubhouse betting windows. No live harness racing meets are scheduled for May 4th but Simulcast wagering will be available for all tracks with live meets including Churchill Downs throughout the day. All guests must be 18 years or older to place wagers at the indoor Simulcast location.
Mohegan Pennsylvania is holding a promotion where guests who wager $100 or more with a teller on any race will receive one entry for every $100 wagered. Guests must place these entries into one of the 20 boxes located in the racing lobby based on who they think will win the Kentucky Derby. At approximately 6:57pm, the Kentucky Derby will begin, televised on the outdoor jumbo screen and indoor racing TVs. At the conclusion of the race, four winners will be selected out of the corresponding boxes of the official top four finishers. The selected first-place box winner will receive $1,000 in free wagers valid for Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 18th. Second – fourth place winners will receive $500, $250 and $100 in free wagers, respectively.
Immediately following the end of the Kentucky Derby broadcast, The River 105 and 103.5’s DJ Tommy will take the stage to emcee Party on the Patio. This special edition Party on the Patio will take place from 7:30pm – 10:00pm and will feature Philadelphia Freedom, a tribute to Elton John. WILKES-BARRE, PA (February 27, 2024) – The Keystone Grand Ballroom at Mohegan Pennsylvania is set to play host to the popular murder mystery event, “A Dundie Demise: An Office Whodunit,” on Saturday, June 15th and Sunday, June 16th. Things are about to go down at the annual Dundie Awards, and attendees will be tasked with listening closely, gathering clues and trying to deduce who the killer is. Solve the crime, win the prize! On Saturday, June 15th, there will be two shows, one at 5:00pm and the other at 8:00pm. The show on Sunday, June 16th starts at 2:00pm. Doors will open 30 minutes before the start of each show. Tickets are on-sale now for $35.00, and available online through Without A Cue Productions. Tickets will not be available for purchase at Mohegan Pennsylvania.
There will be several opportunities to take selfies with the characters (and a fun race to see who can get them all first), hidden clues, and even an opportunity to get a mugshot taken. Once the performance begins, guests will become part of the action as they play detective and try to solve the mystery.
