Various gaming tournaments are on the bill every Tuesday
WILKES-BARRE, PA – Each Tuesday throughout Hot Summer Fun, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will host Tournament Tuesdays featuring $15.00 slot tournaments and $20.00 blackjack tournaments.
Players can enjoy $15.00 buy-in slot tournaments throughout the day. Guests will have their chance to win from 11:00am to 2:30pm and again from 6:00pm to 9:30pm. At the end of each tournament, the top twenty overall scorers will win cash or Free Slot Play prizes up to $500.00. The top three scorers in each session will also win Free Slot Play prizes up to $100.00. More than $15,000 in Cash and Free Slot Play will be awarded.
Blackjack players are also in for a treat with weekly tournaments every Tuesday throughout Hot Summer Fun. For a $20.00 buy-in, participants will play in one of the three first round sessions at 6:00pm, 6:45pm or 7:30pm. The top twelve scorers from each session will move on to the semifinals where the top scorer at each table in the semifinals carries on to the final table.
A share of the guaranteed prize pool of at least $1,500 will be split among the top six scorers with the first place player taking home half of the total pool. The total prize pool could reach close to $5,000 if the max amount of participants try their hand.

A cash cage, happy hour drink specials and more as part of Hot Summer Fun celebrations
WILKES-BARRE, PA – Wednesdays become more than just your average weekday at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs with the
return of the popular Wet & Wild Wednesdays. As part of the fourth annual Hot Summer Fun celebrations, guests can take advantage of some exciting cash giveaways and great happy hour drink specials at multiple locations across the property.
Things really get fun when gamers have a chance to “Get Wild in the Cash Cube.” Guests playing their favorite slot or table will be randomly selected to enter a cash cube for their chance to win as much cash and Free Slot Play as they can grab. Twice an hour from 11:00am – 7:00pm, winners will be selected from those actively gaming.
Guests can also enjoy Wet & Wild Wednesdays great drink specials at select bars and restaurants at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. Every Wednesday during Hot Summer Fun will bring Happy Hour specials at various locations.

The return of Party on the Patio, exclusive offers and more
WILKES-BARRE, PA – The fourth annual Hot Summer Fun celebrations are about to be underway and one of the most fun filled
nights of the week is sure to be Thrills and Chills Thursdays. Guests can expect great promotions like the $500,000 Sizzling Summer Scratch and Win giveaway and the return of Party on the Patio!
Every Thursday during Hot Summer Fun guests are invited to play the $500,000 Sizzling Summer Scratch and Win where twice an hour between 11:00am – 6:00pm, one lucky slot bank will be selected to win a scratch card. Every card is a winner of a Free Slot Play prize based on the amount of lucky symbols they reveal. Anyone who scratches off all 6 lucky symbols will win $500,000.
Thrills and Chills Thursdays are also home to the annual Party on the Patio. Northeast Pennsylvania’s biggest party of the year is back, bigger than ever with more space, a full bar, Johnny Rockets and Ben & Jerry’s! Party on the Patio will take place each Thursday throughout Hot Summer Fun on the racetrack apron from 5:00pm – 10:00pm. The hugely-popular event is free and open to guests 21 or older and will offer $2.00 Coors Light bottles all night long.
Each week there will be a special performance beginning at 7:00pm by varying local tribute bands, in addition to great food and drink specials. After the band finishes, join us in Breakers featuring live entertainment for the post patio party beginning at 10:00pm.

ABOUT RON TURCOTTE: Ron Turcotte was born in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada on July 22, 1941. One of twelve children, Turcotte was always known to be a strong jockey because of his early years as a lumberjack. In 1960, unemployment sent him to Toronto. There he obtained a job as a hot-walker at E. P. Taylor’s Windfields farm. He recorded his first win in 1962 and was Canada’s top jockey in 1962 and 1963. He went on to race in the U.S. but his career ended tragically on July 13, 1978 when he became paralyzed from the waist down in a racing accident at Belmont Park.
Now confined to a wheelchair, he returned to New Brunswick to continue raising his four daughters and now lives a quiet life with his wife Gaetane.

Tryouts for Wheel of Fortune will be held at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on May 19th & May 20th
WHAT: The longest running syndicated game show in the United States, with over 5,000 episodes aired, is making its way to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs for a special Wheel of Fortune event. 
The “Wheelmobile” comes in the form of a Winnebago and makes its stop at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs on Saturday, May 19th and Sunday, May 20th from 10:00am to 2:00pm on both days.

IN DETAIL: The “Wheelmobile” is a fully shrink-wrapped Winnebago with Wheel of Fortune iconography that travels nationwide in search of contestants for the show. The Wheelmobile is equipped with a stage, puzzle board, prizes and a professional host and hostess. During the event, there will be 3 one hour shows during which contestants will play a number of mini-games. Contestants will have a chance to win prizes and qualify for the final Wheel of Fortune auditions. Those who attend the event but are not selected to participate in the mini-games on stage, will have an opportunity to qualify for the final auditions by dropping off their applications at the event.

Mary Higgins Clark and daughter Carol Higgins Clark head to MSPD to sign their latest books and greet fans on Friday, May 11th
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is excited to announce that bestselling authors Mary Higgins Clark and daughter Carol Higgins Clark will be taking part in a special Winning Authors. Together, they will host a live discussion on Friday, May 11th in Seasons Ballroom at 7:00pm, followed by a book signing at the Sky Bridge at 8:00pm. They have both had recent book releases, Mary with The Lost Years and Carol with Gypped. Both titles will be available at MOGO on the day of the event. This event is free and open to the public!
