Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is pleased to announce the appointment of Ernest Charles as the new Vice President of Information Technology. In his role, Charles will oversee all aspects of the design, application, implementation, support and management of Information Systems at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Charles has over twenty years of experience in IT development, strategy and integration, having previously worked as Chief Information Officer for Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs from 2007 – 2009. Since then, he has worked as CIO for Seneca Gaming Corporation and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Western New York. Most recently Charles was the Regional Head of Technology for Pinnacle Entertainment.
Charles holds a Master of Science degree from Michigan State University and previously served as a Commissioned Officer and Captain in the U.S. Air Force.

November 30th set as the first occupancy date for new seven-story hotel

The new, seven story, 238-room hotel includes 126 king and 92 double queen standard guest rooms as well as 20 suites. The hotel features rooms with exclusive views of the Race Track, as well as a fitness center, in-room iPad directories, free Wi-Fi, room service, indoor heated swimming pool, the full service Spa Sapphire, a Bistro serving breakfast and light fare and more.
The hotel is a part of Project Sunlight, an expansion project that also includes an adjacent 20,000 square-foot Convention Center which will cater to business travelers for any number of special events, meetings, concerts and more. With dividable space, the new Convention Center at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will be able to accommodate a number of different sized groups up to 800 for seated banquets. The space can even be converted into a concert venue, holding up 1,500 seats.

Each day of the week brings a new opportunity at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs beginning with Live it Up Mondays. In June, Player’s Club Card members over the age of 55 can insert their cards into their favorite slot machines every Monday from 6:00am to Midnight for their chance to win a Silver Linings Surprise of instant Free Slot Play. One lucky winner each Monday throughout the month will also take home $555.00 in cash! Guests who are 55+ can also enjoy the breakfast in Timbers Buffet each Monday in June for the special price of $5.55 with a Player’s Club Card.
