Fourth annual Hot Summer Fun kicks off May 27th and runs throughout the summer

WILKES-BARRE, PA – As the temperature rises, so does the action at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs with the 4th Annual Hot Summer Fun celebration. The summer-long festivities run from Memorial Day weekend through September 2nd and include themed-days, great promotions, cash prizes, giveaways, spectacular fireworks, signature events, dining deals, shopping specials and much more!
Throughout the summer, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will be hosting a number of promotions including a $50,000 Summer Dream Sweepstakes in June where Player’s Club members can earn their share of $50,000 in prizes. In July, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will be home to the Twice as Nice sweepstakes. Player’s Club members can earn entries to win not one but two Mercedes Benz. Each Tuesday throughout the summer, guests can enjoy Tournament Tuesdays, featuring weekly slot and blackjack tournaments. Every Tuesday, a special blackjack tournament will be hosted with a guaranteed prize pool of $1,500 and can go as high as $4,600. Entry cost is $20.00 per person and will take place at 6:00pm, 6:45pm and 7:30pm.
For all the slot enthusiasts, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs is also offering special slot tournaments throughout the summer. Sessions running every 30 minutes from 11:00am – 2:30pm and again from 6:00pm – 9:30pm. Entry cost is $15.00 per person with a guaranteed prize pool of over $1,200.
Beat the midweek blues with Wet & Wild Wednesdays featuring “Get  Wild in Our Cash  Cube,” where guests playing their favorite slot or table games will be randomly selected to enter a cash cube for their chance to win as much cash and Free Slot Play as they can grab. Drink specials will also be offered at a number of bars and restaurants on property.
The action continues throughout the summer with Thrills and Chills Thursdays. Every Thursday, guests can expect great promotions like the $500,000 Sizzling Summer Scratch and Win where every 30 minutes between 11:00am – 6:00pm, one lucky section of slots will be selected to win a scratch card.
Thrills and Chills Thursdays also marks the return of the annual Party on the Patio – which is bigger and better than ever! Each Thursday throughout Hot Summer Fun, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs hosts Party on the Patio on the racetrack apron from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. The hugely-popular event is free and open to guests 21 or older. Each week there will be a special performance beginning at 7:00pm by varying local tribute bands, in addition to great food and drink specials. After the band finishes, the party continues in Breakers with live entertainment until 2:00am.
Divas, on Friday grab your girlfriends and head on over to Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs for Diva Fridays where ladies can enjoy some of the best retail and dining specials as well as great entertainment and promotions.
In addition to these great promotions, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will also be home to spectacular fireworks beginning with the kickoff of Hot Summer Fun on May 27th.  Live entertainment will also be featured on the first day of Hot Summer Fun with band UUU.  Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will host more amazing fireworks displays on July 3rd and September 2nd. The fireworks extravaganzas are held at the racetrack apron beginning at approximately 9:30pm. They are free and open to guests of all ages.
That’s not all! Throughout the summer, guests can indulge in some great food and beverage specials at select locations including Ben & Jerry’s, Bar Louie, Rustic Kitchen Bistro & Bar, Wetzel’s Pretzels and Wolfgang Puck Express.
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will also be home to a number of special and signature events including the first ever Q and Chrome BBQ event on June 16th. This event will feature a variety of barbeque vendors, celebrity appearances, a classic car/bike show, live entertainment and more. In July, Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs will also host its first ever 80s Rock & Pop Fest on July 27th & 28th, featuring The Cherry Pie Tour with Warrant, Firehouse and Trixter and more.  Food and drinks will also be available at the fest.
In addition, there will be a number of signature events happening on property throughout the summer including Signings & Sightings with Kelly Killoren Bensimon, television star and author of I Can Make You Hot!  on Friday, June 1st. She will be signing copies of her new book, I Can Make You Hot, at 8pm at the Sky Bridge.
Guests can also get up-close-and-personal with Ron Turcotte, jockey for Triple Crown winner Secretariat for a special Signings & Sightings event on Friday, June 8th.
