ABRAXAS BLUES N was that backstretch gapper, out in a blindswitch after being shuffled to last, followed the path behind the winner, evenly. IMAROCNROLLEGEND didn’t want to surrender the lead at all (25.3), finally did so before the half (53.1), came back out to challenge (1:21.1), paid the late price. BAY MEADOWS never was in the main battle. ROCKIE GOT FRAMED left, saw his driver want to put him in the hole but the horse wouldn’t cooperate, so he was hung 25.3/53.1 to make the lead, saw his first-half tormentor come back to challenge, tired. SOMBODYITREASURE was just off the speed duel, moved out with cover then three-wide ¾, but must have been bottomed keeping up in the blazing tempo.
