Supporting cancer services in the Northeastern Pennsylvania areaBreast Cancer Awareness

WILKES-BARRE, PA (October 13, 2015) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual campaign to increase awareness of the most common cancer among women worldwide and the second most common cancer overall.
Mohegan Sun Pocono is committed to helping fight this devastating disease. Nearly 300 team members purchased a pink Mohegan Sun Pocono breast cancer awareness shirt to wear in lieu of their uniform shirts on Mondays and Fridays during October. All proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be donated to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, a local, non-profit organization working to ease the burden of cancer solely in Northeastern Pennsylvania by focusing on community and patient services, hospital and practice support services and cancer surveillance.
Mohegan Sun Pocono will also be host to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s annual Spirit of Hope Celebration on Friday, November 6th. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Patient Navigation Program, which helps cover the cost of recommended breast, cervical and colon cancer screenings for low income, uninsured or underinsured individuals in Northeastern Pennsylvania. For more information about the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute or their Spirit of Hope Celebration, visit their website.
