Dreamfair Eternal, driven by Randy Waples, rallied from far back to win the $300,000 Breeders Crown open mare pace at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. She paced the mile in 1:50.3, another new Crown record for a five-eighths mile track.
The win gave the six-year-old mare earnings of more than $1.5 million. Owner-breeder John Lamers was in the winner’s circle to accept the winning trophy. He praised trainer Patrick Fletcher and Waples for the mare’s success.
Voelz Hanover (Dan Dube) finished second in this race and was a 54-1 longshot with 13-1 longshot Chancey Lady (Andy Miller) third.
