Buck I St. Pat successfully defended her Breeders Crown for open mare trotters at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
The seven-year-old mare, driven by Tim Tetrick and trained by Ron Burke, opened the Crown program by winning the $250,000 open mare trot from the No. 7 post. Time of this mile was 1:52.3, fastest time ever recorded over a five-eighths mile track in the 27-year history of the events.
The victory also pushed the career bankroll of Buck I St. Pat to more than $2 million.
And according to Burke, she will be back in 2011 in an attempt to win an unprecedented three straight in this event.
