Ultimate Cameron holds on in first filly Crown trot elim

2010-10-07

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – Ultimate Cameron, the 1-2 choice, won the first Breeders Crown soph-filly trot elim at Pocono Downs, Oct. 2, going the mile in 1:54.
Taking the top from the start, “Cameron” had a few threats. First, longshot Levi’s Lady left with her and challenged before breaking and then coming back a second time to battle.
When “Lady” was done, Fortunes Dream picked up the challenge with a three-wide brush around the tiring Lady.
Cameron kept up the lead even as Wilsonator and Bramalea Hanover closed from the inside to take third and second, respectively.
Driver George Brennan said, “She got a little weak late but fifty-four is a good mile … Without a doubt having a start here helped.”
Bob Stewart trains Cameron for Diamond Creek Farm.
