WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The second of two filly-pacer elims for the Breeders Crown sophs went to Cannae Cammie at Pocono Downs, Oct. 2. The mile went in 1:50.2.
“When I saw the other filly coming at her I thought we were in trouble,” said trainer Paul Reid, who said he loves Jim Morrill, Jr. and his filly as a team.
“Cannae” went right for the lead and commanded the fractions. In the process she hung the big favorite, Western Silk, at the half and three-quarters.
Rock N Soul was in the third pocket and moved out at the top of the stretch and caught Panagler for second with a mad and promising late charge.
Hula’s Z Tam from the middle of the field came right beside Rock N Soul to finish third.
